spare tire question

I have a model 3 performance with the standard 20" rim/tires. I also have 18" rims/tires for winter driving. Can I use the 18" rims/tires as a spare tire on a long road trip? If so how long can i drive with mismatch rim sizes?

I dont know if the factory 18s fit... I have never looked into that. I know that factory 19s work, as I have had those used by roadside assistance when I had a flat tire (and I have a model 3 performance with factory 20s).

Tow companies that tesla contracts with, that carry spare tires for model 3, only carry the 19s and use those as a loaner tire no matter what size tire you have. If you have 18s, 19s, or factory 20s, the spare tire the tow trucks use is the factory 19s. I was worried about a tire with a difference size being on there, and tesla roadside told me it was fine. They were even willing to send me that in an email, when I requested it.

Someone else will need to let you know if factory 18s fit. though.

I built a full sized spare for this reason.
