On the way to work this morning my new 60D got a bit confused in a 35MPH zone. I'm guessing it misread the route marker and then capped the speed at 100.
One time I had a similar issue where my Tesla read 85 in a 65mph zone or something, but it was an isolated incident and like a year ago. Good thing you were paying attention though! And neat to know about that capped speed limits, that sounds plausible.
Is "100" even a valid speed limit anywhere in the US? I thought the max was 80 with segments in a few states (mostly western desert areas) being technically unlimited.
Most likely it is reading the speed limit signs via the Mobileye camera in cases like this. My aftermarket Mobileye 550 system sometimes misreads speed limit signs like this.
