yes, although it's been happening less frequent. i didn't know we had the map lights, however.I see them light up sometimes as well when getting in or out of my Model 3 SR+, just for them to turn off again a second later. It's a bit annoying that the lights are actually there, just locked by a piece of software.
In the case of the speakers, they are present but not wired in.Turning off lights and speakers that exist just seems cheesy.
it seems similar to lights coming on during PC's booting up. I wonder if they're any good aftermarket usb powered solutions for us SR owners?

Now that is rather interesting, thanks for the info...
theres a thread that shows someone rewiring it.
its been pretty heavily documented. the a-pillar and rear speakers are not wired for audio and you cannot hook them up to the current audio as they would be under powered. while the speakers are perfectly fine, you'll need another amp. That blows my noodle that they installed the hardware but just didn't run the wire... Which speakers are we talking about?
Same with the lighting, having fog lights and interior lights physically installed and wired, as well as the rear heated seats, but disabling through software just makes me laugh. I had previously purchased a LR AWD for 60K and the SR for my wife is basically the same car for half the price. I can deal with gimped software for that kind of price difference.
Yes and no, there's a few people on here I've seen do it. You'll have to splice into one of the already powered lights. Some argue it'll trip.
