SR+ parcel shelf speakers

Has anyone had a look to confirm if the rear parcel shelf speakers are in place on SR+ cars, from what the forums on the US are saying they are in place just not wired in...as per link below

Guide: Model 3 SR+ aftermarket to enable speakers and subwoofer upgrade install - Tesla Owners Online

I have zero confidence in my ability to do this work myself and don't want to rip the car apart to find the speakers aren't even there. Anyone in the UK with an sr+ that can confirm? I have asked a local audio specialist to have a look and see how easy it is to do but wondering if anyone had experience with it.

I've driven in both and it's not worth the effort IMHO.

Been looking at this regards getting them wired up with a small 4 channel amp (Pioneer GM-D9705).

Just seeing if i can find a plug that can fit the existing connectors so i dont have to slice into the wires and to be a kind of retro fit soloution (so i can remove later).

Yep interested. I had a look and I think mine are there.

I feel quite lucky as I didn’t pay for the premium interior but got a car that had it. Seem to have everything but the sub in the back.

I haven’t compared premium and partial-premium sound systems, but I think it likely that the biggest difference will be heard when sitting in the rear seats.

In the premium interior, the front seats sound is about a 7/10 to me, while the rear seat sound is a strong 9/10.

Does anyone know if all model 3 SR+ have the rear shelf speakers or is there a cut off date when they stopped including them? I was thinking of getting one of those harnesses for my SR+ to 'turn on' the unused speakers but want to check if they will actually be there. My car is a March 2020 delivery.

Get a torch when it's dark and you can see if you have the speakers or not by looking through rear window. But yeah it's not on newer cars...not sure about the 4 other speakers (front a pillar and front door speakers) that the harnesses update on 2019 cars...worth doing if you have the rear speakers

I managed to glimpse that there are speakers in the rear shelf. Could this also mean there are speakers in the other locations such as door pillar and by the wing mirrors? Not sure how to get the covers off those.

I installed the premium Hannshow system with sub woofer. You have to replace the rear shelf speakers as part of the kit for whatever reason. I think if you have the grills on the shelf you have all the speakers. My Feb 2020 has all the speakers and whilst the job is not for the feint hearted with all the panels you have to remove, it worked first time.
The sound is bloody brilliant and biased to the centre of the car now. Amazing if you like Rock! 😊
