SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Hello everyone. New to these forums! I ordered my White SR+ w/ premium wheels on 7/30. Updated yesterday to 8/14 weeks. Was much sooner originally after placing order. I'm sure that adjustment is normal, and I expect to wait a while.

VERY excited to be joining the Tesla club, can't wait to take delivery.

QUESTION: I read online that even if you plan to finance with Tesla to mark paying cash and change it later. Seems a little disingenuous to me, but I hesitantly did based on several things I've read. Also, why would I pull my credit now for a car I'm buying weeks or months from now? Can anyone elaborate?

Thanks!
Do C
You shouldn’t do any credit pulls until you have a delivery appointment scheduled. The estimated delivery date changes constantly and is unreliable. Do not look at it. After a while you’ll start to understand why as I know you’re still going to.

The idea that cash payment is putting you farther in line is true simply because of the fact that your profile is considered “complete” or “eligible”.
Depending on your financing situation, you can be in a similar boat to me where you receive a draft check valid for 90 days and can submit self financing to complete your profile.
Only issue with this is reliability to be approved or denied but for most, thats not an issue.

The best advice I can offer is, expect the tail end of your original order estimate (likely 14 weeks) and be happy if it arrives sooner. Ignore the EDD even it it says August because you likely will NOT get that lucky.
Another good piece of advice is to check the Existing Inventory page frequently throughout the days until your original order arrives and reserve a configuration you like that is in transit and has no delivery fee. This will get you your car within 2-3 weeks of ordering at the worst case, and within a few days at the best case.

With that being said, welcome to the family and best of luck going insane!
Agree, I've heard from AS to choose cash and change to loan (if desired) closer to delivery. This should expedite the process.
Regarding loans, not sure how it works if you have accepted terms in the Tesla website and the delivery process takes over 30 days, hopefully my delivery won't take as long.

SITREP: hello week 10. Ordered May 23 and Edd moved a whole month to Sept 20-30 (week 17/18 from order date) this morning. No update from SA other than they hope to see an update in the next couple days. I see deliveries in LA so I guess they aren't getting down to San Diego.
I called Temecula delivery center today and they mentioned I should expect a vin soon. Current edd 8/4-8/15. Ordered 6/17 white, bulk int, 19”

my favorite part about this was the classic line: “best of luck going insane!”

,,,truer words were never spoken 🤪🤪🤪

Hello! Ordered 6/5 and received VIN on 7/31. I ordered at the Clearfork location in Fort Worth.
Spoke with my SA this morning and he said it looks like the car will be here on 8/11.

SR+ Red/black interior/aero wheels
Wow, I ordered the same specs on the same day at the same location. Also, scheduled for delivery on the same day.

Ordered 5/20 in Miami, FL - white/black/aero/No FSD - original estimate 7 -12 weeks (latest date should be August 12th)
Accepted finance terms in mid July.
EDD going back and forth as everyone, currently 8 - 14 weeks (I know it will change to sooner) - Tesla SA told me a couple of weeks ago that he expects my car August 15th aprox.
Have to say that my SA has been very helpful and extremely communicative.
Per what my SA sent me (screenshot) there are some M3 that supposed to arrive on 8/11 to Tampa, I am assuming a few days until Miami. Should be 1 or 2 days. I see very real to get your car around 8/13-15

Haha like so many others I went from 8/14-9/4 to 9/5-9/26 and now to 8-14 weeks. 7/23 order date so I was thinking the end of August was a pipe dream anyways.

That’s pretty cool! Crazy to think we could have ran into each other that day. When I was there we went to look at the Model Y and we liked it but couldn’t get away from the look of the red 3 in the showroom.
