So confusing.
Order date 8/18
Original EDD Jan 2022
On 9/8 EDD Oct 16-Nov 12
On 9/20 EDD Dec 06-Jan 07
M3SR+ Blue with White interior and 18” aero auto pilot
Long Beach, CA

EDD hasn’t changed since. I am fine with current Timeframe, but would not be upset if it moves to sooner.
Mine has, as with everyone's, also changed as of this morning. Mine is now Dec 19-31. I ordered on 8/31. It looks like we're both in for that end of Q4 rush of deliveries. I got my last one on 6/23, the end of the Q2 rush here in Burbank.

So yesterday, my SR+ white/white, 18’, no FSD was set to deliver around December (ordered in august). My payment method also wasn’t chosen as of yesterday. Today, I check to see my delivery date estimate as APRIL… I also see my account in the “next step” phase after you select your payment method. I haven’t selected my payment method yet since I was waiting for my VIN before I requested a loan, so I was quite shocked when I saw I had “selected” to pay in full. So what I’m thinking is that my order info got swapped with someone else’s order info who recently had ordered a Tesla (explaining the April pushback when others who ordered the same specs a month after me are expecting delivery in December) and had chosen to pay in full for their payment method (explaining the payment method being chosen when I hadn’t done anything yet). Is this possible? What do you guys think? What do I tell Tesla when I call them about this?
It being set to payment in full helps speed things along. Once you get your VIN you can ask your SA to switch it to finance and you're all good to go. Its possible your SA or someone at Tesla did it for you? Not entirely sure though.

Overall from what I was told is you need a payment method selected for order to move through the queue faster.

Yes, what Megan says agrees with what I heard from my SA. I sent my payment to "cash" or what ever they had it labeled as, and completed everything I could. Once the VIN is issued you can always update the payment method if needed. My EDD has bounced back and forth by about a month, but has been been pretty stable otherwise. I'm sure location has something to do with it as well. I'm located pretty close to the Fremont factory, so that probably helps.

I just called earlier today and I was told delivery time is not affected by payment method.

About getting an LFP M3 - Couldn’t find any discussion of this but, I have had a 2020 SR+ M3 from Aug 2020, driven a couple of trips over 400 miles from home, not very difficult with basic supercharger planning. Thinking of an a new M3 but for me I can’t justify the $8K difference going up to LR. Used car prices very high making an upgrade a consideration. Would love to be able to select an LFP battery from the beginning though, or order a new SR+ now hoping there will again be an offer from Tesla to switch to LFP, but maybe that’s a gamble. I think the ability to charge an LFP to 100% continually is a real bonus.

I ordered at the end of August. SR+, 18" Aeros, Gray/White interior. My EDD was Dec 19 to Jan 5.

This morning? BOOM! Feb 21- Mar 21!

I don't mind too much because I'm more likely to get an EV tax credit. On the other hand, I am liable to burn a lot of time between now and then reading Tesla articles and browsing for accessories. :p
LMAO im afraid i'm going to be in the same boat... and also wasting lots of time too

From what I can tell, most if not all the LFP cars were picked up from inventory. I also haven't seen any recent reports of people picking up LFP cars. My gut says they shipped over a batch of LFP batteries to solve a supply crunch, and now that that issue has passed (or the battery packs are no longer the limiting factor) they are only using the NCA packs.

Since they make the NCA packs here, and aren't making the LFP packs here, it makes sense they would build everything here with the locally produced packs as long as there wasn't a supply issue - as importing the packs from Asia adds costs and logistics issues. Sadly I'm not sure we will see LFP vehicles here in any great abundance anytime soon. But I keep looking and asking.....

I had the Model 3 inventory page bookmarked and maybe clicked on it a little too often. Anyway, I haven't seen any 253mi SR+ in at least 10 days. They dropped quite a few SR+ last week into inventory, all with 262 mi & all had 19" sport wheel installed. Boost quarter numbers and revenue I guess. Can't tell if they are LFP's or that the LFP have officially been marked as 262mi EPA. Won't know until someone who bought one from inventory and let us know the weight.
My LFP sticker shows 262 miles, so it may now be impossible to tell whether an inventory vehicle is an LFP or NCA vehicle without looking at the charge screen or checking the weight.

I found an LFP vehicle in inventory. At that time you could tell the LFP vehicles as the inventory listing showed 253 miles of range. However, when I picked up my car, the sticker showed 262 miles of range. I expect all of the inventory listings now show 262. (I’m confident I have an LFP because of the vehicle weight and the fact that the charge screen does not show the “daily” and “trip” limits.). My point is that you may still be able to get an LFP vehicle from inventory, but you may need assistance from Tesla to identify which ones are LFP. I suggest using the chat feature online.

Ordered on October 2, still seeing an EDD of October 29 - November 28. Was told by some people here that the date would disappear after a few days, but it's holding steady. I'm still mentally prepared for the date to shift drastically, because an EDD of only a month or two from the order date seems pretty unlikely considering all of the delivery delays. Unless there's something special about Tampa FL

Wow. That’s amazing. I ordered on 10/2 and my delivery specialist is telling me hope for end of year but plan for end of March.
