My EDD has been so much frozen in time since April that I'm wondering if I'm not only looking at a print screen on my phone.

Monthly income after taxes is $3,000. After bills I’d be left with $615 with an LR model once student loans come back in September. If they don’t come back, I’ looking at $1,000 in extra spending, but I can’t rely on that long term.

It is very unusual for someone who takes home only 3k a month to own a Tesla. Spending over 20% of your disposable income on a vehicle is quite excessive under most circumstances. Add the LR upgrade and you’re at 25% of disposable income. But everyone is different. I’m not sure what your thought process behind even getting a Tesla was - perhaps you can share this with us so we can offer more relevant perspectives?

I switched early am Friday (over 48 hours ago), EDD dates never changed... what did change is my order date is now showing 5/27, almost 2 months of waiting in line erased, and mobile charger decoupled based on new order date. I'll update if there is an update, but that is how it went for me. YMMV

We’ll I’ve always leased @ 12k miles which came out to about mid $300’s per month. Add gas expenditures and that’s about $500 combined per month. I did that comfortably for years.

I simply cannot lease again because of work commute, at least at 12k miles p/year which means I’d have to do 15k miles and at that point we’re looking at combined cost that would be the same as what my RWD m3 would cost anyway. I don’t see how it’s unreasonable.

I can totally see why an EV would make sense for you. In case you didn’t know, you could also get a cheaper EV that would also qualify for federal tax credit of 7k or so and possibly additional state tax credit. If you’re intent on a Model 3, without knowing your other expenses, I think you’d be pushing it for an LR upgrade. But again everyone is different. If your living expenses are low enough that an additional $100 or so in monthly payment doesn’t make a dent, you should certainly go for it as you’ll get your commute car much sooner, saving yourself significant gas and maintenance costs, not to mention interest costs as auto loan rates may go up even more in the future as you wait for delivery of your SR.

It will update within a couple of days - if your original order date was only 2 months ago you’ll definitely move up, but most of the LR deliveries are from end of February/ early March. If your order was mid March you should get an update soon.
When I changed my order in early May I got a VIN next day & the car 2 days later.
That said I was in the RWD waiting Room for almost 6 months before I changed

I got my VIN this morning, and I will be picking up my M3 on Thursday at Buena park location. It was a long journey, but I finally went through it.

Also going to be waiting out for RWD… would be 17k more to get LR due to my order date 11/2) qualifying me to get the federal and provincial incentives… let’s hope we get through 2021 order before august

I am in the exact same position. I dont want to let go of the incentives!

I think you need to look at it from the bright side (no puns intended). And that what you did. If or when Matrix light were none existing you were happy to get the car. Like your Y. I think the frustration about the Matrix light is more about not getting what we taught we would be. Yes it is an improved technology but I don't think this is where the emotion comes from. IMO.

Now that you have (2) T's, would you have a minute to shed some light on the unanswered question I've posted some days ago? (#23,958). The short form being : Does the rear door external handle opens the door electrically like when inside or mechanically?

Also : What is the meaning of "BLT:??" in your signature.

Hey guys, just joined after observing this room for awhile. OD of 9/11/21, red/white/18”/no FSD. My EDD has changed a lot, but it’s been stuck at July 8 - August 19 for a couple of weeks now. Compared to most others here, seems pretty late for a Sept OD.

I’m hoping it gets moved up, but I feel my price has a lot do with it. Along with the lower $40k base price, I also got it for $5k less because of a New Jersey EV credit that was available when I ordered. Really hope it’s not completely based on purchase price, otherwise I might have to wait a full year to get it.

After being stuck at July 8-Aug 19 for around 2 months, today my EDD changed to July 29-Sept 2. Very frustrating, I didn’t expect to get pushed back again since my OD was way back on 9/11/21. Anyone else have such a late EDD with such an early OD?

my OD is in July 2021 and EDD isn’t much better than yours. Currently sitting at 7/21-8/25.
