Elon's back to basics problem solving lead SpaceX to Stainless Steel. They threw away $ millions in carbon fiber production equipment of the FBR (Falcon Big Rockette) LA, CA making the largest machines - how many meters in diameter? Special buildings on the waterfront at Port of LA for easy access to ocean transport.

Any way, after Elon learned all the details of stainless properties and got the inspiration for CyberTruck.
Exoskeleton (aviation did almost a century ago) , avoid stamping, avoid painting.
What about the SEMI ? replace carbon fiber with Stainless? Maintenance benefits? Cost savings without paint?
Offer as an option? Devil in the details and the costing people will work it out - and Elon/Franz will double check the calculations.
IF only the lawyers & patent system hadn't stopped Covetic Aluminium we'd have more options.

Thinner sheets and not cold rolled (as extra strength not really needed).
Stamping machines - volumes maybe too low? CyberTruck inspired angular design?
Used to be fiberglass & carbon fiber for low production, aluminium for medium, and steel for large/mass production.
1-40,000 low; 40,000-80,000 medium; +80,000 for steel - guesses as I don't have access to actual present day costs.
