I recently ordered a Model 3, (SR+). Black exterior, white interior, with the 19 inch sport wheels. I am coming from a 335i M-Sport and am wondering if I am making a mistake. I had a brief test drive in a M3 and loved it. The 335 is quick, sounds great, is well balanced, and is all around a great car. Did anybody make the transition from a similar car? Did you feel that the M3 was lacking in the performance department? (Specifically the SR+)

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

As someone who's currently in an Audi A3 e-tron, my experience is that the "electric experience" trumps all. I like my car quite a lot, but the electric range is just too restrictive. I'll likely be moving over to an SR+, unless I can stretch to an LR RWD.

Opinions, even from gear heads, is that M3 are fun to drive in any configuration.

Can't say I drove that specific BMW, but you will very happy with the SR+.

A tip though so that you can get the M3 MUCH faster delivered. I also have a Black M3, SR+, White Interior with 19" sport wheels:
Speak to your local store that will be doing the delivery and push them to get you the Black M3, SR+ with a White interior first, and to separately order you the 19" sport wheels. The combination you want would take months to get to you, but if they do the wheels separately, you will get in in less than 1-2 weeks.
Worked for me.

I love my tesla, and came from a 2016 435 gc... I wouldnt have considered the SR or SR+. I have the Model 3 performance. Did you actually test drive the SR+ or did you test drive the performance model? I am also surprised that someone coming out of a BMW would call the tesla a "M3".

There are a couple of long threads on this exact topic, except they are not referencing a SR+. In summary, the tesla interior is a couple steps down from BMW (which is a step down from mercedes). For my Model 3 Performance, the acceleration and handling trump my previous 435 by a LOT. I am not sure I would feel the same for a SR+ since its significantly slower than the model 3 performance.

The minimum I would get coming from your car would be the LR RWD. Otherwise the acceleration will not feel that much different than what you have right now (although the handling is going to be better in the tesla than your 335 unless its an E series model).

Found one of the threads.. This one has a LOT of feedback from people coming from BMW / Merc / Audi:

Feedback from BMW or other premium brand converts?

I'm coming from a Mustang 5.0 MT which on paper is a bit faster than the SR+ but I can't say that the M3 is lacking in the performance department. The electric torque is what you'll notice...it's unlike anything else. The other thing I love is that the center of gravity is inches from the ground. Going around corners you feel it in your hips rather than your shoulders - it's so much more grounded than anything else I've driven.

You won't be disappointed.

Keep wondering, keep second guessing yourself.

Then sit in the seat and hit the accelerator.

What were you worrying about???

If a delivery person told you with it, stay with it, but if it is the "estimated time", do no believe it.
I could not ask for one thing better performance wise.
Only thing I am not happy with is the Bluetooth connection on the phone. I need to turn it on manually almost every time I get in the car.
White seats wise, could not be happier. I tried a few tests, and a baby wipe cleaned everything off perfect so far.
Wheels were worth the upgrade, no question.

Accessories wise, I bought:
Screen Protector: https://www.amazon.com/Touchscreen-...10&s=gateway&sprefix=tesla+mod,aps,167&sr=8-7
