Stanford Professor Chris Gerdes and his students transformed a vintage 1981 DeLorean into a high-performance test bed for researching the physical limits of autonomous driving.

A friend of mine who just bought a 70D (delivery in a week or so) also built an electric Delorean. Not autonomous, though.
