Hmmm, wonder where my VIN 263 is then?
Had this comment from my DS on 2/8, "Your vehicle is undergoing final quality checks, and quality assurance which usually takes a few weeks". He had also asked me to line up my finances at that time for which I was able to secure a nice 1.99% from Alliant CU. Now that the 30 day pre approval period is expiring, I may have to reapply or mobilize a chunk of change (since I don't want to pay more than 1.99% interest now).

I'm finally getting irritated...didn't want to be whiner of a first world problem before, but reaching my threshold.

You are so close to the factory it seems like it might be worth a physical trip over there to get an understanding of where your car is and why it has not been delivered yet. Are you taking a factory delivery?

I can really feel your pain and if it was my car and I was so close, I would certainly consider a physical visit.

Picking up VIN 38x tomorrow! Could have picked it up Saturday, but I wasn't available. Configured on 12/2/15, Midnight Silver, 7 seater (wish I got the 6), ultra white seats. Hoping to take it to the lake and take some nice pics with the city in the back.

VIN 18X, exact same config (as far as what you listed), so this gives me some hope.
I wonder, then, if there was a QC issue. Did you get the premium package too? Wondering if the perforated white seats are the hold-up.

In the exact same boat. Was advised by Tesla to secure financing at the beginning of February. Did so. And now it expires tomorrow (and that was getting a one week extension).
Looking forward to the credit ding, and a possible uphill battle at re-securing financing given the lovely bonus of my spouse's identity being stolen this past month.

Unless Tesla comes through with a Hail Mary tomorrow.
(you can do it Tesla!)

The California $2,500 incentive is expiring for a large proportion of potential buyers extremely soon, so this is one reason Tesla is actively attempting to ship as many vehicles (model X and model S) to prospective California customers as possible, to meet this deadline. The details of the cutoff are such that if you're not in a need to attempt to get the incentive, you are not in a need to know those details, so I'm not going to bother to repeat the byzantine bureaucratic details about determining the cutoff for each buyer, but suffice it to say, that Tesla is helping its customers by meeting these deadlines (if you are in such a situation, see a Tesla store specialist and get your ducks in a row, and FAST). They did the same with Model S over in Norway at the end of 2015, and have done so in a few other areas as well. Another added benefit to Tesla is that some early manufactured vehicles can be better serviced closer to the factory for early quality control issues.

I'm about to order an X myself, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to confirm the order after the fall off of the cliff of the $2,500 incentive, and therefore, the factory push for model X's in California, and I'll probably be pushed back about one quarter year.

Well - they did it. Sort of.

Got the purchase order and secured loan on last day.
Delivery date provided: 3/30 :frown:

I guess I'll take it. I get the sense that last week in March at the factory is going to be nuts, though.[/QUOTE

Got tired of the nonspecific and generic responses from my DS and called the Fremont delivery line directly today. The person suggested a late March delivery; she also noted that she was being "conservative" and didn't want to overpromise.

No sight of the purchase agreement/order yet. Does the date of the purchase agreement or the date of delivery count towards the CV rebate? That's another $2500 in jeopardy. Sweeeet!

I may take up aesculus' suggestion; get a Tesla polo, a fake employee badge, and infiltrate the Fremont facility.

What's the phone number?

@ssiegler

On the Tesla website it says the loan approval was good for thirty days but I was told by Tesla Financing it was actually 60 days but even then they good easily get an extension if nothing had changed with my credit report. Luckily I fell within the 60 days. Even though Tesla has said the rebate is good just so you have a PO by March 31, I would check with the state to make sure what is required. You don't want to get down to the wire and then find out you need something else. Everyone on this Forum is aware you can't always believe everything they say.
