One of the things we learned during the temporary closure of the Newark Supercharger was that the status indication on our cars' Navigation screens seemed to be different between cars for a period of time until they all synchronized over the course of a few hours.

During the outage, @jrreno, @CHRGIT, @Max*, @vdiv and I observed this. We never really determined why they were not always in sync. I would have thought that when Tesla switches the status on the system, that the info reaches all the cars at nearly the same time.

We have a rare opportunity to collect data when the Bethesda Supercharger is decommissioned, which is scheduled to happen Thursday.

Who is willing to volunteer to keep watch to see when Bethesda is reported to be turned off and help provide data on how long it takes to propagate to all of our Nav systems?

Please confine this thread to discussions of this experiment. The Bethesda Supercharger thread is over here: Supercharger - Bethesda, MD

    Thanks! :)

@Lanny... have to be by the car for this, right? No way to check remotely, right?

I'm in. I can do it before work and after work. I park in an underground garage with no cell service, so can't check it midday.

Yes, you can only see the Supercharger status on the car's screen.

I will test. My car's nav loves Bethesda - me not so much of course.

Hi folks, @vdiv just arrived at Bethesda and he tells me that the sign has changed and that it now says *July 31*.

So, another month reprieve for the Bethesda Supercharger. Likely because Laurel is not ready yet.

    Thanks @vdiv for this photo.

That makes sense and very helpful to know - thanks @vdiv and @Lanny.
Guess we'll regroup in a month

    Thanks for the report, @CHRGIT.

It seems that the Bethesda Supercharger is going to get another reprieve until the Laurel Supercharger station is open.

I check the nav screen hoping to see a red pin has appeared in Laurel every time I get in the car now. :)

Are we in the final countdown or will Bethesda continue as a zombie Supercharger?
