What are some of the implications to TESLA and Automotive Industry as a whole?

I imagine this was not a shock to anyone with the given yes/no back and forth with the current White House Administration's track record.

I work in the Automotive sector in SW Ontario and many of my colleagues are surprised at the speed and reaction by our National Government to retaliate with targeted tariffs on American goods. I don't know enough about our integrated economies to have too much of an opinion other than I support our government's efforts to fight for what's best for Canada.

The increase in steel and aluminium prices may affect Tesla in the future. Presumably they already have contracts in place, but I can see no way that this won't increase car prices across the board.

Trade war sh*t like this only ever ends up hurting everyone.
