2022 MYP (took delivery 2 months ago).
I had a service appointment yesterday in Carlsbad, CA to evaluate some squeaking and grinding coming from the steering column. It had gotten worse over the past 2 weeks. I've seen similar complaints online, so I figured Tesla had experience with this. However, one of the service guys rode in the car with me and wasn't familiar with my specific issue.
They had the car for a few hours and discovered the steering column was rubbing against a loose "hard brake line". They temporarily moved the brake line out of the way and ordered a new one. I have another appointment in 2 weeks so they can replace it.
I'm happy it was a simple fix, but I hope Tesla looks in to it at the factory level. Seems like a notable safety concern if a brake line is involved.
