Steering wheel heat stopped working

About a week ago my steering wheel stopped heating up. It's still cold 30 minutes after turning it on. I scheduled a mobile service appointment, but just thought I'd check here to see if there's anything else I can do in the meantime.

Does the indicator in the app show that it is on? I suppose you could look for a fuse, but mobile service will know exactly where it is.

Yeah, it shows as on in the app.

Mobile service already sent me a document showing that they are planning to replace the fuse or sensor or whatever. It's only a week out so I'm fine with waiting.

I'm not for sure but I think it is a "timed" feature. Is it possible your waiting too long to after it's been turned on and it's timing itself off ???

If I'm wrong a bout the feature someone will correct me.....

Have you rebooted the car? A Tesla is just big portable computer will big battery and the standard response for any computer issue is "have you rebooted?" Give it a try, there is no harm.

I just tried all of the various resets (including Power Off > Brake to restart) and nothing worked. Must be a hardware issue. Thanks.

Don't forget to update this thread when Service gets your heated wheel working again. Curious as to the cause.

I'm taking it in today. Based on the invoice they sent me, it seems they believe they need to replace a part.

I have a 2017 model and sometimes the wheel gets really hot and sometimes I can barely feel the heat. Doesn't seem to be regulated properly.

In my case it's not working at all. They did a diagnostic and found that the part is broken, so Mobile Service is replacing it.

I'm not sure what it's called, but the service tech said it's a single part that affects the horn, steering wheel heater, and windshield wiper heater. They are finally coming to replace it on Friday after more than a month and numerous calls.

Any chance you can take a look at the invoice in the app to see what part was replaced? I'm experiencing something similar. My heated wipers and steering wheel no longer work, but the horn does

So I guess my harness is faulty :/

Yesterday I've lost steering wheel heating and today I tried the horn - silence. Is this 100% the harness? part nr 1013242-00-K ?

I checked all other buttons and they work fine, so the only thing thats not working is the horn and the heating on the wheel.

Is this a sign of harness failure?

Right. Fixed.

I ordered a second hand part 101324200H, replaced it and it works now.

part 101324200H is made of both buttons and a harness. I first tried to replace only the harness, no luck, then only the right buttons...nothing...So i am safe to assume it is the left buttons at fault.
