Steering wheel play

I started to noticed that my steering wheel has some play. I notice it the most when I switch to Sport Mode, where I can wiggle the wheel about 5 degrees in either direction until it engages. I've had this car for 2 years and 50k but cant say that I have noticed it until now. Would love to hear if anyone else has noticed the same.

I have the same play in my steering. I would not have even noticed but I went to get a alignment and the shop said they could not do it due to the play in the steering. I took it to Tesla and they said they needed to replace the entire steering rack. It is not a safety issue and cost a lot to replace so I have done nothing. Cheaper to replace tires if they wear than fix the steering.
