Strange Delivery Communication...

So, I'm scheduled to pick up my AWD - White Interior this upcoming Saturday morning from Marina Del Rey and I receive a text ~ 6:30pm tonight.

"Hi __, Great News! Your vehicle just came off the assembly line and we are ready to deliver it to your door. Please respond with your AM or PM preference for Friday, 9/21. - Tesla Delivery"

I'm thinking "whoa, what?!", because I still haven't been contacted by a local advisor about the delivery just the ISA from Vegas & Fremont. Plus, what do they consider my home address? My registration address or my shipping address? I'm not currently at my registration address, so I'd like to clarify with them.

I text back, "Hey, is there someone I can chat on the phone with?". No response. After 45 minutes, I call the number and it's a Google Voice number and no one picks up and there's no description on the voicemail.

So, I'm not really sure what's going on now...I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Anyone else receive this text or have a similar story?
Thanks.

I got a similar text yesterday after already having my VIN and a scheduled delivery @ Fremont this coming Monday. I think they are just looking for any way to get the car out of the factory and delivered. I replied that I planned to go to Fremont (with my detailer) and do a careful inspection there. No objection from the Tesla texter.

That sounds like a scam. Either just delete it and wait for a reasonable communication or contact Tesla and ask. If you respond at all they will learn something about you. If it really is Tesla no harm no foul but if it is not...

Definitely possible, but the person knew my Reservation Number AND preferred delivery location, so i'm pretty confident that it's actually Tesla. Also, they have not asked for any specific information that someone who was scamming might ask (i.e "hey could you confirm your bank account # with us?")

Nope, pretty sure this is real. It's just Tesla's usual chaotic communication.

My story: Had my delivery scheduled for Fremont on 9/23. Received call on 9/14 asking if I wanted home delivery early. Home delivery scheduled for 9/19. The delivery itself went off without a hitch, but they made it a little more nerve-wracking than necessary because the website showed the new date/time but the old location (Fremont delivery center).

They're basically using home deliveries to increase their delivery bandwidth - the guy who drove the car to my house said he normally works for Tesla Energy but was helping out for the end of quarter push.

It's an automated text. I had sort of a similar message but received a call from my local delivery specialist a day or so later filling me in on the details. Don't sweat it till you get an actual call. It first goes, automated text, Nevada Tesla call, then local delivery specialist call. After this you deal mainly with the local specialist. At least for me anyway. I got the car in my hands 4 days after the initial text.

I ordered by car and got it in two weeks, 08.18 build. I was anticipating dec, so i wasn't in a huge rush or got myself excited. The car had 6 miles on it when i received it. i'm the lucky one.

I have had no contact at all since configuring 6/27. On Tuesday I got an email from a DA in NV asking me to confirm my zip code so they can select the nearest service center for me to take delievery. I responded back immediately and have heard nothing since. I tried calling and got the google voice # and 2 emails asking for some kind of time frame or further information have gone unanswered. Also I find it strange since when I configued I choose my delievery location so why the need to confirm my zip code. Frustrating not to get a response.

Hoping that choosing the delievery location means the car is built and possibly on the way to the east coast, but who knows.

They are probably just looking for where there are buyers near where the cars already are so that they can deliver as many as possible in the next 9 days. If your car isn't already in transit I wouldn't expect to get it until sometime next month.

So, yesterday was a crazy day, but I called MdR delivery center in the morning which routed me to someone in Vegas, who then emailed a delivery advisor in MdR to call me asap. An hour later, MdR guy called and offered me $200 Tesla store credit if I could come that day to the center and pick up, so I told him to order me a Lyft and I'll see you in a few hours.

Anyways, delivery itself was pleasant and I didn't feel rushed or crowded, but the paint on the car is thin in a bunch of places and the entire car will need to be repainted...smh

Not a scam. This is what’s being sent out yesterday. They really want to deliver these cars and secure Q3 profit.
