Students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's Prototype Vehicles Lab are working on building a solar powered car to break the current solar powered car land speed record (held by the University of New South Wales) and bring the record back to the US. It's a really neat project--I had the opportunity to take a look at some of their wind tunnel/CFD work back in December because my wife's nephew is one of the students on the team.
