Let's have a contest for the stupidest question about a Tesla or EV charging that you can come up with. I'll start:

Can I plug my Tesla into a UPS so it will continue charging if I lose my power?

I actually have that exact scenario at my house today. Of course "UPS" in this instance is a whole house UPS with a cabinet full of ginormous lead batteries along with a bunch of solar panels.

In my case, it should work as long as I only use the 120v charger at the lowest amperage. But I have not yet had the occasion to try.

If I had a dime for every time someone asked if they could hook fans to the front of an EV to charge the batteries from the wind as they drive.

Or to put an alternator/generator on the wheels to capture energy as they go.

Perpetual motion confusion is just so rampant.

Tesla once had a slogan "Burn rubber, not gasoline".
True story: someone walked up to a Tesla rep and asked "where do I put the rubber pellets in to make it go?"

Is this a dumb question or not?

Can I put a portable generator in the passenger seat and turn my Tesla into a hybrid?

My DSL is slower because I am far away from the "head end".
If I plug my Tesla in closer to the power substation will it charge up faster?

Can I plug my Tesla into this?:

(hint to thieves - look for the outlet with the grounding plug on the top!)

I heard that Tesla has the best electric range of anything out there.
But does it cook better than gas?

I am just driving down the street to a friend's house. Can I just use a really long extension cord so I don't have to unplug it while I drive?

I got this inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter plug so I can recharge the car from itself!

If my Roadster is low on power can I just drive it in reverse until it is charged up again?

What do you do when you drive out into the middle of nowhere and you run out of power?
