Stupidest Made-Up Question

I actually have that exact scenario at my house today. Of course "UPS" in this instance is a whole house UPS with a cabinet full of ginormous lead batteries along with a bunch of solar panels.

In my case, it should work as long as I only use the 120v charger at the lowest amperage. But I have not yet had the occasion to try.

If I had a dime for every time someone asked if they could hook fans to the front of an EV to charge the batteries from the wind as they drive.

Or to put an alternator/generator on the wheels to capture energy as they go.

Perpetual motion confusion is just so rampant.

Tesla once had a slogan "Burn rubber, not gasoline".
True story: someone walked up to a Tesla rep and asked "where do I put the rubber pellets in to make it go?"

Is this a dumb question or not?

Can I put a portable generator in the passenger seat and turn my Tesla into a hybrid?
