Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Well- I don't agree. I am complaining of range decreases. I am one of many. In my case, the decrease was immediate, considerable, and on top of general fleet decreases. It was accompanied by a 50% increase in supercharging time.

And, something that I will never, never forget is the total lack of any support dealing with this from Tesla. This includes both the Service Center face to face and the corporate customer service via email and phone. It felt - and still feels -- like a betrayal. I would not have felt the same way about Tesla if I had simply been told "yeah, we see something going on and we don't know what happening. We are trying to fix it."
Show the Tessie or teslafi screen showing the degradation compared to similar milge cars. That is what matters.

I also missed out on the class action and was a little annoyed that the plaintiff attorney did not do a more thorough examination of who was impacted...it would have made the class larger and maximized their recovery as well. However, being out of the settled class means that you and I can pursue our own individual case or join a future multi-plaintiff. I'm willing to wait a little longer for Tesla do work on a fix and I've yet to do my own investigation into why my battery pack when from 256 rated miles to 244 overnight. 3.5 years later I'm down to 233 rated miles with 122K miles on the odometer.
The list was controlled by Tesla. The attorneys could only check individual VINs.
Going from 256 rated to 244 miles was NOT the effect of the update. We went from about 250 miles to 217 miles. 17% loss virtually overnight.
Tesla pushed this update to about 1,700 cars in the USA (about 2% of the fleet) which matched our partial hands on survey of over 400 cars in the affected date range.
The slowed supercharging speed happened AFTER the lawsuit was filed and could not be added to the lawsuit because tesla never promised a charge rate without legal outlets like "Up to 80% in 30 minutes".

Like I stated this update from back in sept nov took a good chunk from my range. Says only 4 other cars have higher and 2 at same rate as mine. Let me know what you experts think.

Has anyone who had a failed 85 or 70 battery been offered a new battery Or everyone gets refurbished?
is there a difference if car is under warranty vs not?
im assuming anyone under warranty gets refurbished battery, but what about those out of warranty?
if thousand of cars fail within 6 months, can they even supply replacements…

warranty gets refurb, out of warranty gets option for $x to get refurb or $22k for new.

Yes, some people have gotten a new battery under warranty. It is up to Tesla what you get.

Not really. The only difference is that you can refuse to pay for a refurb, but they don't have to offer you a new battery. (But then you get nothing.)

This, or they recklessly pushed faster SuC speeds to the Cobalt and Silicon (90s onwards) packs, yet the old ones were taking a hit, and in the process they had to nerve them.
Ever wondered why we din´t see any more fires after 2019.16.1.1 so that must have worked.

Today, like every day, is a good day to remind Elon of his promise

The battery pack in your car is obviously very important and expensive to replace. In developing the Model S, we took great care to ensure that the battery would protect itself, always retaining a few percent of energy. If something goes wrong, it is therefore our fault, not yours.

So a proper fix would have been a new pack, not software limitations.

I sold my 2014 S 85 with 238,000 miles. Charged to 229 miles but only 63 kWh usable.
I bought a Hyundai Ioniq 6 Limited.
GREAT car. 305 miles rated range with 74k Wh usable 77 kWh battery. I can actually get 270 miles. Interestingly that is with charging to only 4.15 MaxV. So, it charges FAST! 10% to 80% in 18 minutes (verified) 80% to 100% in another 15 minutes. This also comes with 2 years free charging with Electrify America.

What made you choose the Limited over the SE? It looks like the SE is less expensive and gets 50+ miles more estimated range.
