Suddenly several error messages

Last wednesday I pulled my 2014 P85 AP1 out of the garage, approximately
5 m. I got out of the car, kept the driver door open, and tried to remove the floor
mat. I found the door sill not in place and pushed it. Then I removed the mat,
and touched the brake pedal.
I got a signal, and several more signals, so I thought that I was somehow sitting on my FOB.

On dash are several messages:
- Airbag system needs Service
- stability control disabled
- automatic emergency breaking disabled
- car needs service, charge speed limited
- parking assistance disabled


I powered down the car, no change. After contacting the road assistance, I brought the car to a service center. The drive was unusual, no AP, no regen.

I assume a kind of CAN bus or ground failure. Has anybody hab such an issue?
How could it be solved?

Or it could just be a dying 12V battery.

It seems the first battery, but I have had no warning at all before.
The car was perfect.

Many cars including Tesla’s start throwing a myriad of errors when the 12V battery is dying. My I BMW though enough warnings to make you think it was undriveable as well. I am hopeful that is all it is!!

I had something similar happen and it was a bad connector on the battery (not the 12v). It was easily fixed by the service center and covered under the 8 year warranty.

Not necessarily

Just like in an ICE, if you see a laundry list of errors count on sensors being underpowered by dying 12v.

Today I got a message, that my car is fixed.
The cause was a loose connection at the A pillar, and they now fixed it with an additional tie.
My is perfect again.


The service was good - absolutely nothing to complain!

thats great news! So it wasnt the 12V afterall.

Possible bad ground is also possible.
