Yeah, I know. In that case he stuck the plate higher than where the plate would normally be with the provided licence plate holder. I plan on putting mine lower - after first sticking it to xpel ppf so that I can easily remove it.

Let us know how it goes. I did find it strange as all license plates are made of metal unless it has something to do with the metal physically touching the bumper which cause interference with the waves.
 
Has anyone had experience with the double-sided tape and Xpel Ultimate wrap? The shop that did the wrap is saying they take no responsibility if the plate and mount falls off and goes under the car... I'm not sure if that's simply boilerplate avoidance or if there's a legitimate concern with the tape sticking to the film. They tell me it's basically the same surface as on clear coat paint, so I don't see what the issue would be... but I'd like to know before having them stick it back on!
