Sun Exposure

For years we've had the fortune of being able to park a commute car in a garaged environment. A new job may require parking outside (in Central Texas) all day while at work. Does anyone go to the trouble of covering their car while at work in the summer? I know there is overheat protection, which is great, but I'm curious about how well people's cars with a lot of exposure to the elements have held up over time.

My car has survived the summer with no issues (white paint, black interior). I just used the windshield shade from HeatShield.

I live in California and it gets hot here too. I have a black on black and park outside. I purchased a
Sunshade for Tesla Model S 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 Heatshield Windshield Custom-fit Sunshade #1400. Which does wonders. I've also considered getting a roof shade, all glass roof, but the Tesla one is too expensive. Waiting for a good aftermarket one for that.

I did put some 90/10 tint on the front windshield, but yes a windshield shade may be needed for all day parking. I hate to expose the exterior all day to the elements, but I guess there is little to do about that except drive another car to work when there is hail risk.

I am contemplating doing that as well if the forecast is in. Luckily, we were spared the stormy weather this year. So far.
