This thing looks done. Completely finished, no one around. I walked up to the charger and the adhesive is still on the handle switch, but I didn't bother to peel it off because I'M IN MY VOLVO! I'll drive the Model S here tonight to confirm it's operational, but I think you can mark this one complete.

Eight bays, 4x2. Back in. (Unless you want to occupy two bays.)

The one thing that might be missing is the transformer. Did you see a large green box (or an empty concrete pad waiting for one) outside the equipment enclosure? If not, there could be a delay (sometimes for weeks) before the local utility delivers it and connects power to the grid.

Please post if this is on. I need this charger if it is on.

Went back with my Tesla. It is NOT yet operational. I waved down a security guard, who said the construction guys were finished, but they didn't know anything else. I didn't know to look for a transformer box outside the enclosure, but the enclosure was larger than what I've seen at other stations.

The security guard told me that there was a "not quite as fancy" charger available inside the parking garage. (I presume a J-1772.) This should provide some relief to anyone with immediate plans. The charger does not show up on Chargepoint or Plugshare.

Even if the transformer is on site they may be waiting for the county and/or utility to inspect and sign off on the permit to actually flip the switch. I assume being a Native American casino the construction part of the permit would be simple/fast but don't know how long the utility will take.

We're moving near there next week (and I have a friend who works at the casino) so will update it I learn anything.

My guess is that when this site opens you will see a traditional-looking green transformer sitting on a pad where you currently see two large grey conduit ends sticking up out of the ground, next to the enclosure. They are visible in brute wolf's recent photo (post #62) if you look through one of the charging stations, and in one of six volt's photos (post #56). I'm a relative rookie, but I have not seen an installation yet where the utility transformer was located inside the Tesla enclosure, which houses the distribution centers and supercharger cabinets. I'm excited to see I-44 moving along!

Great updates, guys! Please keep us posted. I'm moving from Tampa to Springfield, MO in 8 days and the route would be, by far, easier if this one charging station opens in time (right now it routes me through Indianapolis!!!).
Doc, do you have a CHAdeMO adapter? Looking at the Plugshare map and the Tesla charging map, it appears you might be able to thread a shorter route than the existing supercharger network via Indianapolis. But it would take tricky timing, use of some Tesla destination chargers, and dependence on the kindness of Nissan dealers with CHAdeMOs to make it work. I can sure see why so many folks are impatient with that big void centered on Memphis. Here's hoping they're installing that utility transformer in Catoosa right now!
