Thanks. I'll be using this site this weekend. What kind of construction is going on?
Looks like a doubling of the casino area. It’s roughly where the cinema is/was. It’s not high enough for more hotel rooms, but maybe they are still going up. The biggest problem was the massive amount of mud all over the parking access roads since it was raining. I normally like a good walk to stretch my legs at each SC, so I didn’t mind, but I’ve misjudged the bathroom distance at other SCs in the past, so now I often stop at a rest area before charging.

I'll be down in Pendleton in a couple weeks for the weekend, will probably hit this SC at least once. Some of the reviews on Google mention Tesla owners being given a hard time by Wildhorse employees, saying the stalls are for Wildhorse guests only. Has anyone experienced that at all?

I’ve used this site a few times in the past ( not recently ) but have never had any problems. Not sure what you may be referring to: the chargers are a fair distance from the casino so I can’t imagine the employees are walking all the way over there; and, once inside the casino the employees really have no idea which car you came from. I wouldn’t worry about it. I think all casinos are happy to have a draw to get you inside. If someone did hassle me I ask to see the day/night manager immediately.

At least ~41% of Americans are complete morons. Those people just had the misfortune of encountering a few of them. I had a similar run-in at a Supercharger at another hotel (Still wonder why so many SCs are at hotels). Tesla pays for the electricity not the Hotel. Superchargers are for anyone that is able to use them not just hotel guests. Destination chargers are a bit different but Superchargers are for everyone.

I agree, I don't understand why anyone would give a hassle about charging. I was surprised to hear it was an issue, I would've thought it was an isolated incident, but it was mentioned in multiple reviews of the SC. I've never experienced an issue like this in any of the other SCs I've visited.

The reviews on plugshare seem a lot more positive.

PlugShare - Find Electric Vehicle Charging Locations Near You

I have also used this location before and never had any problems.

I have used that supercharger multiple times. I have never had a problem. It usually isn't crowded. I have also gone in to use the bathroom without any problems. They were doing temperature checks at the door the last time I was there. They were very friendly.

I have used this charger a few time and found the casino very welcoming. Both times a shuttle driver came over and gave me a ride to the casino.

I was going to say just this. The last time I was there I had the same experience with the super friendly shuttle driver. The other times I've been there I walked to the casino for a meal and was happy to do it. Always relish a chance to stretch the legs when on long road trips.

A Model X driver I talked to at Ritzville said this charger was problematic. Anybody been by recently?
Problematic how? People often complain about "slow" superchargers when they don't realize their battery is cold-soaked or they are paired with someone. On the other hand, if he said he tried all the stalls and none of them worked, then that would be truly problematic :)

He said it was ‘down’. I just checked our car Nav map and Pendleton shows as ‘Temporarily Closed’. The X driver had been talking about the Spokane charger being closed while new owners had Tesla move things around some. He went on to assume the Casino wouldn’t be changing hands or closing. Since he had just unplugged and was leaving one of the 2 working chargers at Ritzville that I had been waiting for, I didn’t ask more.

The casino can't really change hands. It's owned by the tribe! I guess they could bring in an outside management group but even that is unlikely. Also, basically no way it closes since it brings in the vast majority of the money for the tribe.

That's interesting about it being marked as a Temporary Closure. That one is almost impossible to skip if you are driving from the Dalles to Baker City (unless you have a Raven or something). I guess you'd have to detour to Kennewick. Yikes!

Abetterrouteplanner has been showing it as unavailable about a week. I’ve been planning my return trip to New Orleans from Lincoln City and it initially was routing through Kennewick. The Tesla nav has me going through Bend and Burns.
Going through Bend and Burns is absolutely a better route from Lincoln City to Boise. It's only about a half hour worse than going through Pendleton. Detouring to Kennewick would add about 1.5 hours. So unless there's bad weather on the Bend/Burns route, you should take that one.

ABRP just gets its data from Tesla so it isn't a leading indicator.

Just drove through here from SEA -> SLC, and it was almost a real issue that the supercharger was closed between Yakima and Baker City...

Anyone have any idea when this supercharger will be back up and running?
