Bittersweet. Okay more bitter than sweet... US-Canadian border to be closed to 'non-essential' traffic
Came with 46% and got max 121kW Officially on the Tesla Navigation! Also Costco Abbotsford Gas is at 94.9, wow!
Ghost town at High Street last night at around 8PM. The Cineplex and a bunch of stores and restaurants are closed. I was the only vehicle in the entire west parkade other than a Model 3 that left before I finished charging. Very eerie feeling when this mall is usually bustling on a Friday night. Stay safe and remember your social distancing everyone.
I’m at Abbotsford supercharge now. Am only getting 30kw / 160km an hour ? Why would that be ? 2020 model x
Because your battery is so full. Ok people, the battery has to be very low. 10% to get anywhere near the max. It also has to be quite warm. For now I'm saying it close to impossible to have it warm enough for 250kw in Abbotsford. Ambient temp is simply too cold. I drove to Richmond and back while setting the navigation to this supercharger for preheating. The highest I could get was 233kw. And that's very brief. However, it stays over 150kw past 60% which is quite nice. I arrived with 27km and had 227km in 8 mins. 327km in 15. LR RWD Model 3.
I think you were charging across from me. I was in the red Model 3 with rose gold coloured wheels that left at 1:30. I got up to 140kW with about 40% SOC on arrival with a preconditioned battery.
This might help you guys: From my experience using the V3 chargers in the US, you need to be driving for a while (i.e. a road trip) in order for the battery to heat up to the optimal temperature.
There have been charging issues with some of the stalls at Abbotsford (I tried 4 stalls and had an error message that said disconnect and retry charger). I contacted the Vancouver Mobile Service and they ran logs that said everything is okay with my X. I charged no problem at Guildford. If you get an error message, switch stalls until you find one that works. 1A, 1B, 1C, and 2C would not work. 3A worked for me. The numbers are written on the inside of the stalls with a sharpie temporarily.
