Thought it might be with the new service center but it doesn't look like it - at least from what I can tell.
Actually you’re right! It might be in the new Service Center. The estimated “coming soon” location in the map is never accurate; it only centers in the city itself.
The map point is definitely the Avalon...where Tesla has a store, would make sense to put a publicly available one there. I wish they'd put one in Johns Creek
Hi guys - found this on Plugshare, it looks like just what you are talking about? PlugShare - Find Electric Vehicle Charging Locations Near You 4 HPWC charging stations and 2 "urban" (72 kW) supercharging stations. *** UNDER CONSTRUCTION *** Expected online July 11th.
It seems likely that these will be for service center use. 2 urban superchargers would not be very useful for public use.
I took my M3 to Decatur last week after a crack appeared in the back glass. They gave me the option of having it fixed at the new service center in Roswell. The tech said it was supposed to open on 7/10, although my parts probably wont be available for at least a week after that.
Actually this will be a new service center, not at the Avalon but not too far away at 1400 Upper Hembree Road, Roswell, GA 30076. Here a few pictures...
It says Sales on the door. Will it be a Store also? Plus wonder if it will be body a repair shop too.
I assume more of a service center. Sales are more or less online anyway. Perhaps they will do deliveries to customers picking up their ordered cars...
I went to the Decatur service center and was told that the Alpharetta service center is open since 07/09/218. If I find some time this weekend I will go and check it out...
I stopped by with an issue with my model 3 this afternoon and made some inquiries. They expect the superchargers to be live in about 2 weeks. They are expecting to start delivering cars from the new service center sometime in August. I saw a number of model 3's parked along the left side of the building--several plugged in (destination chargers?).
I went on a drive with my MS 100D to test 2018.26 3bbd9fd on the interstate and to checkout the new Roswell, Georgia Service Center Urban Charger and see if it was up and working. YES! 72kW 239 mi/hr on the screen. Teslafi info: Start 43% End 94% Charge Time 50 Minutes 100% charge Efficiency Max Voltage 405V Average Voltage 397.116V Max Amps 197.3A Average Amps 137.69A Miles added 65.88 The service center was very clean every where! Lots of M3s & MS in the parking lot.
I looked at Tesla's map and it shows the service centre as open, with no SCs listed, and a "coming soon" Alpharetta supercharger. So my guess is that this will be one of those "unlisted" superchargers which Tesla doesn't want to promote - Alpharetta, GA - Service Center - and that there will be a separate dedicated supercharger location coming to Alpharetta (2019 according to the map).
Now let's delete this thread so no one else finds this SC!!!! (Just kidding). Super happy to see this. I'm in Alpharetta at least twice a month - this will make life much easier. Had been using Chargepoint at Avalon which is fine but slow.
