Not a lot to show here on the day after Christmas. Looks like the digging is completed and the big conduit is started. The bases for the chargers are there and some equipment so I imagine things will progress quickly from here. This is the first time I have seen those precast bases, I always assumed the chargers sat on poured in place slabs.
Looks like conduits are run and cabinets on site. Just like other sites the cabinets will be on the other side of parking lot.
Didn't stop as I was driving by today but it looked like they were finally setting the concrete bases in place.
Saturday the 9th, the concrete bases are all set in place with conduit run to each and the ditch backfilled with earth. Tons of digging on the other side of the lot where the cabinets will go.
Drove by without stopping today. Looks like they've made a lot of headway on getting the electrical cabinets set.
Friday 1/29 finds 7 of 8 chargers mounted on the pedestals, the pull in space being the one not mounted. Around the corner the electrical cabinet area is shaping up. .
Looking good! They still need to repaint the parking lot too since the lines look a little messed up. My random guess is that we are still 2-4 weeks away from this being open.
I wonder if it is the same crew working these? Finished the lexington one and now working this one and then the one in colfax.
On a drive by today I saw that all 8 chargers are now in place, the big green electiical box has been placed on the electrical side, and all the construction fencing is gone. I'll try and stop in for a closer look and some pics over the weekend.
Kinda random place to post it i guess but am i the only one that things the bottom of the pedestals look like they are unfinished? Like they all were designed to have some kind of molding at the bottom but then they just said.........ah never mind.
I've never noticed that before, but I can see what you mean. It looks a little odd now that I'm looking at it closely.
Thanks for the update and pics @CorynNC ! I got a bad feeling that the air pump location is going to cause some issues. At the Greensboro Sheetz location the line to use the air compressor is ALWAYS 3-4 cars long and that would cause a blockage of the SC stalls here. Hopefully things work out though, I cant really complain about more v3 Supercharger locations
This is my 1st post using this forum but I'm local tesla owner and I have been waiting for this stalls to open since I 1st seen them when I was next door at Walmart. Have been paying attention to my charging map for when it shows active.
Yes the Guilford college location is like that. When it's a line of 2 cars or more they will block u in or just keep u from pulling in
I have no doubt that will happen. Back in the dark ages when I drove an ICE this was my usual fill up location and the line at the air station was frequently 2 to 4 cars long. At that time since the lot both sides of air was parking the line went in either direction. Now I suspect that with people parking on (hopefully) only the right side the line for air will tend to form on the Tesla side.
Stopped by the Archdale Sheetz today in the rain. No activity due to the weather. Stalls are in, but looks like there's still more to be done to hook them up. As noted by someone above, the charging stations are near the air pump (or something), and today there was a line of 3 cars waiting for it strung across the Tesla spaces.
