Charging and there is an S charging as well

...

I like the Mt Shasta SC, it's in the parking lot of a nice Best Western.

I also wish they'd put in a supercharger in Roseburg, OR. .....

me too. Shasta is such a pretty place. it was the first place I ever saw a line for a supercharger, because there are only 4 charge heads. (they were waiting for me...sorry 'bout that. I was watching the game on TV in the very nice lounge inside the Best Western).

Springfield-Grants Pass is just a shade long, especially southbound in wet weather. There's a casino with a /huge/ parking lot just south of Roseburg that would be the perfect place. There's already a rest area in it.

I think that's called the Seven Feathers or something like that. When we've been on road trips south with an ICE, we've often stopped at the Seven Feathers because it's just about ideal combination of range of the human systems as well as about where you need gas.

7 Feathers has an Aerovironment CHAdeMO station and a J1772, and a Tesla Roadster charger that I donated back in 2011. Or at least it used to; the guy I dealt with is no longer there. That was long before they built the rest area.

I spent a long time in 2011 trying to give away a Roadster charger to some business in Roseburg. Nobody would talk to me (when they did, all they would say was "but we don't have electric cars here". They didn't seem to hear me when I said "but if you install a charger, you will get electric car customers"). I hope things are different these days.

But getting back to Arlington...thanks for checking on it, glad to hear it is up and running! I'm not a huge fan of Bob's in Burlington, so I will be interested to check this stop out. I am really glad Tesla is moving so fast on these new chargers; it seems that WA went an awful long time with just a few far-flung stations.

We were driving north from Seattle yesterday evening, planned on charging a bit in Burlington. While driving a new SC symbol popped up in Arlington. As we parked, the security guard rolled up in his LEAF and said that the power company employees had left a couple of hours ago and that we were the first to use it. Seems like a nice location.

And there is a gas station within a short walk so we can borrow the squeegee.

I stopped by on my way to/from Whistler. The 210 Brewery wasn't a bad place to eat inside as well while we charged. Sandwiches were huge and on our return trip we just ordered one and split it between us.

While we were unplugging, the manager ran out and introduced himself. He was very happy that they had the largest Supercharging site in the NW. He also wanted to gauge my interest in valet parking. They are thinking of having it so you can drive right up to the main entrance and having the valets take the car to the Supercharger for you. I said that would be really nice and something I might consider in the future. I also warned him that if the site has more then 8 cars plugged in, Tesla will charge the owners an idle fee if they are left connected after charging. So if there was heavy use, they need to have the valets go back and unplug/move the cars.

Overall, very happy and will be using this site going forward instead of Burlington.

So when I first learned about this Supercharger I was a bit miffed.

It seemed like an odd location, and rather pointless.

But, after being there I think I was a bit wrong. It's a well lit place with lots of people around including security so it's likely going to be safe 24/7, and then you have easy access to a bathroom which again is likely 24/7.

The food options seem pretty solid, and hey if you're bored there is always something to do.

I imagine some people will visit just to go to the Casino and they'll do the Valet thing.

It's just a really nice place, and I highly recommend visiting if only to check it out.

I expected it to be empty on a late Saturday night, but there were three other people charging when I arrived.

Thanks for the notes. I still think Forks is a more crucial spot, but agree this is a valuable location. Can't wait to visit the peninsula again.

As a professional gambler, I'm biased, but I am a fan of the casino spots, especially casinos that have hotels. You get 24/7 food/restroom/hotels with security. There aren't many supercharger locations that check all those boxes.

The hotel here is above average and fairly inexpensive fwiw. And a knowledgeable gambler can get recurring room comps for FREE if they play their cards right ;-)

We just got back from a great road trip to Vancouver Island (Nanaimo Supercharger, YAY! :) via the Anacortes-Sidney ferry and stopped at Burlington on the way to and Arlington on the way back. I have a problem with casinos because of the smoke... just can't be around it. I was not going to come back to Arlington (because there is nothing around the Superchargers but the casino) BUT then I saw the construction sign. :) They are building a new section that will be smoke-free... woohoo! :)

They are now offering a valet service! Just leave your key with the front desk and after an hour will park your car. Looks like they were listening to your advice.

We were out for a drive today and stopped by. As if to prove the point on why businesses should do this, the wife and I dropped $100 on gambling and another $40 on some beers and food. So much for “free” supercharging.

Great little casino with two Leaf security cars driving the parking lot frequently.

I agree - Tulalip really dropped the ball by not landing the SuperCharger there. (And it would have been easier to get to)

Tried the charger today. Very nice layout with the bathroom a few steps away. 16 stalls and I’m the only one. Take that S. CA! Approved!
