Tesla probably worked that out with DD and decided that this general parking thing is acceptable. That parking lot simply isn't that big and that may be the larger problem.
As long as the line for the drive-thru doesn't block Supercharger access you have to consider it a win at this type of establishment.
I do not disagree; this region desperately needs another charging option to help the constantly packed and badly traffic-y six-stall charger in Lincoln, and I’m happy to see it come online soon. However, I still think that placement is far from ideal and probably the worst I’ve seen in my few years of ownership. It’s bad both for us, as anyone arriving in the morning on a weekend should expect to wait for a stall, and also for the locals, as they will now see close to half of the available parking taken over by charging cars. This particular DD has a small and crammed lot in the front and another tiny lot with a few spots on the other side. I think that other lot would have been a better option, but it looks like that’s where employees park now. I suspect this will be an issue for the location - the drive-through line is directly in front of the charging stalls and both the DD and the charger are going to be busy. I am, of course, still happy to see it happen - it will save me a 15-minutes detour to Hooksett on the way home to Keene from the Whites.
I think I can just make out a meter on the transformer in this picture as well (between the two right-most stalls, just in front of the truck). Probably at or very close to the point where it will ready and waiting for Tesla to come onsite to do their final testing and commissioning. There aren't a lot of Tesla crews doing this, it sometimes can take some time for them to get this done depending on where the crew is at the time they're notified the site is ready for them.
Not on as of 6 PM Tuesday, August 18th. I think there's enough width to allow Supercharger access even when the drive-thru line is long.
Bunch of guys working at the main green transformer this morning. Couldn’t tell if any of them were Tesla commissioning guys or just the power company. I feel like they are getting close.
Nice, will stop by this weekend. This location should provide long-needed relief to the six-stall Lincoln SC.
The skinny plug cords with no silver ring definitively confirm this is a V3/250kW. For reference, V2 is on the right:
I have to wonder what the power ceiling could have been if they kept the same wire gauge as V2, but added the V3 liquid cooling tech to it.
This is going to be a well-patronized Supercharger, Lincoln or no Lincoln. Highway access is very easy on this one.
It shows up if you click on the one lightning bolt icon (also shows destination chargers). It seems it doesn’t have a charging speed set in the system yet for some reason.
I arrived yesterday with 32% in the tank so I did not expect it to hit the max. Nonetheless it quickly ramped to about 220 and backed off from there. I don’t SC much so it is the first time I’ve seen that kind of rate.
Charged here today. A nominal 250kw session. No spots ICEd. This station is in a Dunken Donuts parking lot. The DD was open for drive thru and takeout but the restrooms were not open.
