Really looking forward to this. Right now, I can do Mt. Rainier but it takes some planning and careful driving. Would be nice to have some leeway with Supercharging on the way back.

There are several CHAdeMO fast chargers around Auburn. Getting an adapter to charge at 50kw makes it practical to go to Paradise. Of course not as fast as supercharger but helpful. The question is would it worth $500 for such a short term substitute solution.

The adapter is worth it to me because it allows me to take more risks in general and have peace of mind. As an example, I may elect to skip supercharging in Leavenworth, knowing I can probably make it back to Monroe for a nice dinner. It’s OK to take that risk as there are multiple chademo stations along the way if things start to look dicey. Multiply that benefit out over years of roadtripping with the car, and the adapter is worth it even if it hardly ever gets used.

I guess a similar analogy would be carrying a spare tire worth hundreds of dollars even though it most likely won’t ever get used.

I agree with this. I don't think I've ever used the Chademo adapter out of necessity, but I also don't regret the purchase. I want to be able to plug in anywhere. Or at least anywhere that is possible. within reason.

The Tesla solar awning has no visible base.

Clears throat... Light pole foundations clearly. Depending on the solar arrays structural design requirement the foundation can be visable but Tesla works to avoid this as much as possible. The Linq Supercharger is a good example of avoiding exposed foundations.

This site will not receive a solar array.

I'm hoping it'll be open in the next couple weeks!

Hmm... After hearing that another instrumental Supercharger PM for this region left Tesla; I retract my earlier statements regarding Auburn & Blaine opening this month.

This Supercharger team now only has one dedicated PM for 11 states which includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. We'll see if the NorCal and SoCal Supercharger Teams can pick up the slack or Tesla manager will finally act to stem the bleeding.

Tesla just can't keep talent from Exes down... So sad...
