Supercharger - Baker, CA (LIVE / EXPANDED 40 V2 + 20 V3 stalls)

They expanded Barstow, but apparently that wasn't enough. They will soon be building 18 superchargers in Yermo, but apparently that won't be enough either. The permit is out for the new station in Baker, California and... well you better scroll down to see for yourself:

Baker Permit.jpg

It's a 40-stall supercharger! There are more permits besides this one:
B201705450 TESLA - 133 KW INSTALL (1) QED SWITCHGEAR
B201705451 TESLA - INSTALL (4) SOLAR CANOPYS
B201705452 TESLA - INSTALL (4) LED CANOPY LIGHT FIXTURES
B201705453 INSTALL (20) TESLA SUPERCHARGER CABINETS

10 minute walk to The Mad Greek. Not bad, if you did not have idle fees.

Having the car drop you off at the Mad Greek and autonomously drive to the supercharger, charge up, and return will be the hot ticket. This will be a great synergy between EVs and autonomous tech.

GSP

PS. The LA to Vegas supercharger coverage will soon be truly impressive, able to handle a huge throughput of vehicles.

Dang 40! A new Superplex Charging spot. Nice. The gas mart is far from all the eat places and other end of Alien Jerky.

Going to Vegas there going to be many SC.

Rancho Cucamunga
Barstow
Baker
Primm
South Las Vegas Strip
North Vegas / Downtown Vegas

You left out Eddie World 18 stalls in Yermo.

Baker, Ca is going to have the largest EV charging capacity per capita of any city in the world. Yermo will be right up there too, not sure if it is even a city, maybe its just the Wild West...

The new sites are appearing faster than supercharge.info can keep up with, as of the time of this post.
That site is crowdsourced and maintained by mainly one person AFAIK. Anyone that starts one of these threads should email them via the address on the 'about' page.

Yea that too...In a 227 miles stretch from Rancho Cucamunga to Downtown Las Vegas...That's all of stalls! ahahah

Rancho Cucamunga = 12 stalls
Hesperia (Coming Soon)
Barstow = 16 stalls
Yermo = 18 Stalls (Permitted - Coming Soon)
Baker = 40 stalls (Permitted - Coming Soon)
Primm = 10 stalls
South Las Vegas Strip = 10 stalls
North Vegas / Downtown Vegas = 6 stalls

Love it! So once all those get built, I can drive to Vegas just like I used to in a gas car - just stopping in Baker for food, "gas", and pit stops. For me Barstow is a little too close for a regular stop and Primm too far when it comes to standard pit stop criteria.

They are basically making it so you don't have to plan your charging stops anymore on that route, which is awesome.

Aren't these SC threads suppose to be in the North America us three of the Charging thread? People start them in the Model S thread and all sorts of odd places.
Threads dedicated to a specific Supercharger location are placed in the appropriate forum for their area. All California Supercharger threads are placed in the California Superchargers forum, which is where this one is.

As a non-American, Baker first came to my attention from this article - The first ‘High-Power fast-charging station’ (150-350 kW) is installed by EVgo and ABB right in Tesla’s backyard

I don't know the status of that plan but there is nothing on Plugshare in that location (apart from a few slow outlets). It would be hilarious if this new Baker site was approved, constructed, and turned out to be 350kW+ before this single EVgo site was active!
Chuq, I read the same article and was skeptical back then. Lots of talk and no action. Just like traditional auto makers. There's very few EV's that'll even try to get to Baker to charge other than Teslas so talk of EVgo and ABB 350kW chargers going in before SC is just ludicrous.

Sounds like Gigafactory 1(Battery) being in Nevada had an effect on Nevada business support by Tesla.
