Super addition to William Street is being used, council says
Bathurst was electric tonight!
I was there Sunday morning, quick day 2 road trip with the family.
The permanent Bathurst location is currently under construction at the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre (1 Kendall Ave, Bathurst NSW 2795)
It presumably isn't far away from going live, since there is an opening event (organised by Tesla & TOCA) planned for Tuesday 9 April, involving both this location and the Dubbo supercharger! I'm told a link with more details will be available later on today.
Update: here’s the link!
Events - The Super Supercharger Opening
SuperSuperchargers, hmm, V3?
I did Sydney - South West Rocks - Sydney this weekend.
As I was getting 90kW at Heatherbrae I was fantasizing about 250kW. Then I woke up, battery still at 42%, oh the humanity...
the 90kW is a limitation of the SCharger, not your vehicle-is that true?
If so, do you think the 250kW rate will EVER be available in country NSW? Can the local infrastructure support that??
I think the supercharger is limited to 120kW.
My car is the 75 battery, and has never gotten over 98kW, and lately seems to max at 90kW.
Some 100D cars can hit 118kW, even on our Australian superchargers.
Bathurst is open!
I've seen a Model 3 up to 123kw on an old SC (back in September).
The 75 series batteries run at 350v vs 400v for the 85 and larger packs. For this reason the 75's can't go higher than 98kW, even on a V3 charger. It's a pack limit not a supercharger limit.
Now officially open! Was not on Tesla’s map yesterday.
Here’s Bathurst. Photos posted on PlugShare. And like another Supercharger, super high-up signs.
Photo of the grand opening at Bathurst. There is also one NRMA fast charger on the left of the photo (from plugshare)
Wow! 11 Teslas at the Bathurst Supercharger Opening.
Nice to see a CCS/ChaDeMo there too.
I'm planning to always stay with Tesla, but it's good to open the field to all brands.
Looks like a good location, short walk up to the shops and probably not much chance of people parking regular cars there.
