Supercharger - Bay City, MI

I had an opportunity to swing by the Bay City Supercharger. Looks very good. One guy was there cleaning up. No sign of the transformer though.

Yeah, for sure. The utility guy didn't know if Tesla needs to do anything more, but he said that from their end everything will be live.

There's a high probability that Tesla still needs to complete the circuit from the transformer cabinet to the chargers, so don't arrive with empty tanks.

Looks like it will take another two weeks. I'd put it at sometime the week of the 12th, but don't quote me on that

As of Friday evening, the transformer is in place, but no meter yet.

Just stopped by on the way back from the Traverse City area -- nothing new to report.

It seems like the food options will basically involve either going through a drive-through or to the Meijer's deli counter and eating in the car.

When I asked about a supercharger for Mackinaw City, I got a response from a Tesla employee "Tesla has big plans for Michigan." So I am hopeful there will be one someday.

In the meantime, Roberts Landing Campground (about 9 miles south) offers use of their 14-50 plugs for $10. Also, Shepplers Car Care indoor valet parking has 120 V outlets and also a 10-50 outlet available. It costs $30 per day. The 120 V outlet worked great for me while I spent 48 hours on Mackanic Island last weekend. My car had a full charge when I returned.

An adapter would be needed for the 10-50 outlet. I have one that I made from a 10-50 appliance cord and a 14-50 RV outlet that I bought from Amazon. I did not know about Shepplers 10-50 outlet, so I did not bring it last weekend.

The tesla electrician was working on the circuit from the transformer to the distribution cabinets yesterday. He wouldn't tell me any kind of timetable, though.

Meter is in. Can't fit the plug into my Sunday car, so can't tell you if it works . Plastic is still covering all the superchargers.
