Thanks @DriveMe for starting this thread! Are you able to update the title to match the other Ohio Turnpike threads by chance? "Supercharger - Broadview Heights, OH - Great Lakes & Towpath Service Plazas"
Another set of Ohio Turnpike Superchargers getting installed this year. I asked Turnpike support about upcoming installations and they said to watch this site for updates: Electric Vehicle Charging
Maybe someone can get some photos if they're heading that way. (Based on some other Turnpike plazas we should see some markings and construction soon.)
The Great Lakes Plaza (westbound) is located at 41.29268598624449, -81.67144710828768 and the Towpath Plaza (eastbound) is located at 41.29181004162161, -81.6753627875049
Travellers on Ohio’s Interstate 80 will soon be able to enjoy a Supercharged voyage across the state. In December, Tesla opened 2 Supercharging stations at the Wyandot and Blue Heron service plazas in Genoa. This week, […]
The chargers are being installed at the Towpath plaza (Eastbound). There was a work crew setting them up this morning. I didn't have time to stop to take a picture.
BTW, the previous post showing chargers must have been at one of the plazas east of here. Neither direction had charges until this week, though the eastbound did have the concrete footers nearly ready on Friday.
I finally stopped by the Glacier Hills service plaza, while heading to Pittsburgh. I saw some paint markings where they're installing more Turnpike Superchargers! (Based on the construction at the Blue Heron and Wyandot plazas this location in the parking lot makes sense.) This is a really nice...
The chargers are all mounted at the Towpath (Eastbound) plaza. Still a lot of finishing work to do, but it's nice to see the progress.
They were pouring concrete for the footers yesterday at the Great Lakes (Westbound) plaza, so they're just a couple of days behind on that side.
I quickly checked both sides this weekend. Still all fenced in and still work going on with both sides. It looked more like paving and grading, etc. versus electrical.
On this trip I did notice that of the three states I was in (OH, PA and NJ), there was a big difference in SC pricing. PA was the cheapest at $0.34, then NJ at $0.39 and finally OH at $0.42.
@msbuffy100, I drive the Ohio Turnpike every week or 2. I was last by there on Friday, Jan 20. There was some activity (someone was doing something) on both the eastbound and westbound sides, but things look very stagnant over the past few months.
