Heatherbrae is half an hour past my destination in Newcastle, so not really useful.
Always happy to see more SC’s. But I don’t understand putting these under a mall on Broadway. Hardly convenient for people transiting through the city (which is after all what they’re for). And a crummy, congested part of town. Would have thought Alexandria, near the ED. Or Surry Hills. And above ground. I know the service centre is going to Alexandria - and for good reason. But that is a while off.
2017s passedThey need a charger in Canberra so they can get Josh to open it ;-) the Gold Coast should have had one in 2017.
When I get my Model 3 sometime before 31 Dec 2019 (I hope), my expectation is that with a full charge I could drive from Sydney's inner west to Newcastle and back, as well as a bit of driving around Newcastle itself, without needing a top-up charge. But I still see a need for a SC somewhere between the two cities because everyone's trips will be different.I think a lot of us expected there to be one between Sydney and the Hunter Expressway junction - suit both the Sydney-Newcastle return trip drivers, and those heading on towards New England Hwy etc. kill two birds with one stone. Tuggerah would be ideal.
On a full charge with my S75D I can do Sydney Newcastle return with some driving around in Newcastle. Get home with 10%.When I get my Model 3 sometime before 31 Dec 2019 (I hope), my expectation is that with a full charge I could drive from Sydney's inner west to Newcastle and back, as well as a bit of driving around Newcastle itself, without needing a top-up charge. Tuggerah is a bit of a detour off the M1. I think the best place would be at the M1 Service Centre north of Wyong. I know that goes a bit against the Tesla ethos (since it is primarily a petrol station) but with all the restaurants and facilities there it makes sense.
Which shopping centres do you use? I checked out the new DCs at Stanhope Village and Baulkham Hills and both were locked to 4kW (the swines!)My scenario is Williamtown area (just north of Newcastle) to West or South West Sydney for cricket. At the moment, to avoid Artemon I fill up at one of the mall destination chargers - half hour charge, but do have to go out of my way for that often. I can make the trip without charging I think, especially north side, but feel it would be touch and go. This is in a S90D.
I'd love to see a charger somewhere south of or at the twin servos.
Oh good to know. Maybe it was just an abherration when I was there.Stanhope. It was charging at 85 kph iirc. This was a few weeks back.
Who could be bothered nickel and diming Tesla over something like that? I've got better things to do with my time than be pathetic and wrangle over a couple of bucks. If it ever happens to you, consider it a donation to assist Tesla in expanding their Supercharger network and feel good about it.Speaking of the lack of reception, I wonder if they’d waive any potential supercharger idle fees incurred there because you can’t get the “charging almost complete” notification?
Anyone ding their Tesla coming out of the Broadway Supercharger bays? I just picked my Model S up today and gave them a go. Getting out was a very tight squeeze!
I gutter rashed my front left wheel twice trying to get out of there when it first opened. Now I swing really wide, reverse back and line up before trying to get out of the gate, haven't hit my wheels since!
