Supercharger - Buena Park, CA (removed from car nav 31 Aug 2018 but still operational, 8 V2 stalls)

I believe the thickness is a matter of conduction/amperage (???). There is one location (was in Mountainview), that has thinner/longer cables, but has a cooling system incorporated. At one point, it was speculated that all SC's will have these cables. I am not sure what happened with that.

I'm sure this new location will be busy. However, would you rather Tesla not build Superchargers in urban environments, and not build this location at all? On balance, more Supercharger locations are better. I see no point in complaining that a new Supercharger location will be "overwhelmed". That means that it is serving a need and is useful. That's a good thing.

I mean they should have build at least 12 stalls, not just 8 stalls. Sure, it is better than nothing. ;-)

I would rather not assume that he is complaining. I would rather say it is simply stating might what happen, based on need (as you suggest). Although, a busy supercharger would often lead to cause for complaints.

The good news about this SC is it's location, as mentioned above. If it is busy, it is likely so by people actually traveling somewhere, rather than shopping at a mall or having a leisurely meal. There is not much incentive to leave a car charging for more than what is needed. Just to be clear, I am not opposed to locals charging. I am opposed to those who leave there cars for several hours while they work nearby or go to a movie, etc.

Tesla should build the superchargers in ghetto like Campton, it will solve congestion right away coz no one will use it ;-) just kidding

I'll probably end up buying more merchandise while I wait for my car to charge, assuming the showroom is open. Not good for my wallet. :p
Imagine how many will trade-in their vehicles during the wait. This could be a very costly Supercharger location!

Time for a construction update. The reason for trenching through multiple concrete layers in photo one is the future location of the charging equipment in photo two. The Buena Park Service Plus location will lose the cement parking space on the west side of the showroom for the charging cabinets. I wonder how many new EV buyers may question the product specialists if similar cabinets are needed at home?

Looking north towards service entrance. Charging cabinets are to be installed in this area according to the construction crew:

When the BP SC opens I think the Korean restaurant will get a lot of new customers. When I look on Google Maps, it is the only spot within walking distance (other than a car dealer) that you can get some food or spend time away from your car. Perhaps they should add a "Supercharger Special" to their menu. Since I work within 5 minutes of that SC, I will definitely check it out for lunch or a business dinner.

The whole purpose of the SC is to do quick stop and juice enuff to reach next SC for travelers.

Those who looking for Restaurants missed the whole point of the SC and end up filling the spot much longer than intended and/or local abusers who fill top off because they think free is ok to Buffett it....

Sadly that's what others SC have turned into like Burbank, SJC, and Fountain Valley

Close, but not entirely accurate. It is acceptable to go get something to eat, as long as you are back in time when your car is done charging. I have shopped at Costco at FV while charging, and was back beforehand (I blow through Costco really fast. My only slow-up is all the people lined up for free samples). I have also spent a lengthy dinner at Lone Pine, but I was the only one there when I arrived and when I left. The problem with these busy So Cal chargers is that there are enough people unlike me that do not get it.

Superchargers are meant to be located next to restaurants and shops, so you got stuff to do while waiting and won't be stopping in the middle of nowhere. At least for the inter-state highway. Probably not working as well in large urban area.

ICEd by a SmartCar this afternoon. But also not open yet. All pedestals wrapped in plastic.

This 8-space SC is located front and center at the edge of the property and in view of the 5 freeway. Gotta love it. No way would the GM stealership next door give up this kind of prime real estate (say, for oil changes).
