My best guess would be the Calabasas Commons - easy on and off access from the 101 freeway. Anyone have any additional info or guesses?
Kudos to you @Saltyamateur for a perfect thread title! Consistent format with other thread titles in this forum, accurate, and descriptive. Thanks.
You are right that it is going to be at The Commons. I found the permit on the city's website. Approved on 10/2/17. 4799 Commons Way. Description: EV CHARGING STATIONS: Install (24) Tesla EV charging stations; (12) super charge 160KVA inverters; (1) new 2500A main panel; (1) meter; (1) 2500A service; (1) 2500A switch gear; (12) 250A branch circuits; (1) feeder; (1) 2500KVA transformer. I'll stop by on Monday to see if construction has started.
@Archer nice find! Looks like a great location. Let us know if you see any signs of construction. I’ve changed the thread title.
When I put 4799 Commons Way in Google, it shows the location that's close to the food court. That part of the mall seems to be busier than the middle of the mall. Nevertheless, would love to see this get online in the near future. Thanks Archer!!!
That'll be the address of the mall. It doesn't indicate where the actual site is within the parking lot.
I didn't see any construction today (11/12/17) at the middle portion of the lot. I'll look closer next time I do some more grocery shopping.
Thank you all for your help. Been waiting for info on this Supercharger since last year. I’m writing this from the Commons and don’t see any construction here. Will notify when I do.
Look for spray paint markings by surveyers on the pavement. Back when I was scouting Oxnard Supercharger, the spray paint markings were laid out long in advance of any actual construction.
Found fencing material but there are currently no markings. Looks like the chargers will be near the entrance at Commons Way and Calabasas Rd.
Your picture does have markings. The white "USA" with the arrows is indicating the middle of an area that needs to have all the underground utilities marked. Look for the perimeter of the area and any yellow, orange, or red spray markings.
Looked around and didn’t see any other colored markings. However I saw an orange flag staked behind me from where I took the picture. I drive by Calabasas regularly and will keep an eye on the progress.
Great location! Glad to see they are building new sites with a good amount of plugs now. This area has a high density of Teslas.
Thanks a lot for posting, finally a new supercharger close enough to Ventura County! It will be great not to have to go to Oxnard for us locals (I live in Newbury Park just over the Conejo Grade on the Thousand Oaks side).
As a local, why wouldn't you charge at home? Going to a Supercharger for free electricity vs. charging at home returns you less than minimum wage.
My dad does this, but for him its because he drives to an outlet mall at lunch when hes at work to walk around, so he doesn't actually go out of his way to do it and he never does it if its more than half full
No construction as of Sat 11/18/17. This location is to the left of the main parking lot entrance and furthest spots from the stores. You can see Ralph’s to the left in the background.
SO true. My wife pointed this out to me. The slight cost savings isn't worth it. Then again, if you live in an apartment where you can't charge...
