A friend sent a screenshot from a FB group showing the equipment onsite at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets (SE side) For 16 V3 stalls. I don’t use FB but perhaps someone can look at the SD Tesla owners group to grab photos.

Yep, this location will be heavily used by travelers. That parking lot is often packed, so hopefully that isn't much of an issue.Excellent location - likely will be located next to the EVGo chargers.
I agree this will be ICED more than not, or by others "charging" there when not needed, even with idle fees.IMHO the premium outlets is a bad location since the lot is always packed. The chargers will be ICED unless security does something about it.
El Camino Mall would be better since only half the mall is busy and plenty of parking space.
If only we could snap our fingers and make El Camino Mall sign that lease agreement... Of course, the challenge of locating cooperative SC sites is all about finding that willing site host...I think it will work out okay here...IMHO the premium outlets is a bad location since the lot is always packed. The chargers will be ICED unless security does something about it.

I agree. The Shoppes at Carlsbad would have been a much better location. Outlets is only 5 miles from the current Carlsbad location.IMHO the premium outlets is a bad location since the lot is always packed. The chargers will be ICED unless security does something about it.

Do we think there will be issues with this location being closed at night for the off-peak 50% rates? I know from past experiences driving by around 8-9pm the lots are gated. Hopefully it isn't the case. I would have preferred the mall on El Camino as well. Way more space and also gives people travelling on the 5 or 78 access to a charger between San Clemente, San Marcos (soon) and the original Carlsbad SC.
As of May 1, 2020, please call security number (listed on signage) to gain access to chargers. An additional gate is open (near Starbucks) from the hours of 10 am and 8 pm for the restaurants that are continuing to operate.
EVgo Fast Chargers are located in the lot closest to flower field parking by Rubios. For 24/7 access the shopping center has an entrance with a monument sign "Carlsbad Premium Outlets - Deliveries" off of Paseo del Norte. Customers need to call security number (listed on signage) to gain access to the EV chargers.
That gate has been closed for quite a while, maybe since covid began. From what I remember when I had a Toyota RAV4 EV and used the EvGo chargers there, the gate off Car Country Road (at the northeast end) is always open after hours. Probably for after hours deliveries quite apart from EV charger users.
I'd guess the last two spots will be ADA spots that need a bit more work. You can see a hole in the ground in your first pic, wouldn't be surprised to see an ADA post go there.Drove through the parking lot on my way to Costco and noticed that there were only 14 posts up (from what I was able to count at least; hopefully they have two more coming). Construction is progressing and it’s starting to come together though so that’s a good sign.
