A simple way to differentiate V2 and V3 is by looking at the cabinets.

V2 (V2.5) Supercharger

The V3 chargers also have thinner cables (like Destination Chargers)

that's interesting because there are certainly some that have been installed recently that say 2, not 2.5.

Unknown. My guess is that it has to do with improvements to the design that will increase reliability and decrease the amount/cost of maintenance needed going forward. i.e. things that only Tesla would realize.

Since it's been a while I swung by at lunch and everything looks exactly the same with the exception the plywood covers have started to weather darker as they've been in place for 2 months now

I wonder what the hold up is with pedestals? As somebody that lives near cary I don't really care too much about this one but I could really use the one waiting on pedestals in Charlotte. In the grand scheme of a SC installation I would have to think the pedestals aren't that much.

No change as of today, not sure what the hold up is regarding charging cabinets, seems to affect a lot of new chargers.

I bet the cabinets and chargers are in that pods container. Someone go crack it open and take a peek j/k

but that is crazy that is like 90% done and just been sitting and waiting for the final parts.

If you're talking about Tesla's map, then there hasn't been any change because it was never listed there. Tesla has a grey, "Coming Soon" pin on Durham that could turn out to be the Cary location. Or Cary might be another of the many locations that has recently been getting built without ever having been on Tesla's map as a grey pin first.
