Tesla says the supercharger slated for Casper is coming in 2019, but they've said that for the current year in past years.

It's a real hole in the network (though probably not as big as the North Dakota hole!) because the routes through Casper to Cody to Yellowstone and through Casper to Riverton to Grand Teton are pretty well traveled.

I read here that the Hat 6 Travel Center is under contract for the superchargers. Anybody have any more information than that? Are things progressing at all?

I emailed them, below is the response. Maybe done by this summer....

Hi Brian,

We are, in fact, installing a Tesla charging station at our location. We’re hoping it will be ready to go by summer. The installation process has been affected by Covid-19 so we’re just going with the flow of things right now.

Oh my god YES!!

This is a huge link that is now being filled. They say it as if it is currently under installation. Can anyone nearby go take a peek (please send photos!) and confirm? Woohoo!

Oh my God is right. Might be my Easter Egg of all Easter Eggs. My biggest fill outside of Escanaba.

So anyway, I’ve added it to Supercharge Info, because I think there’s well enough evidence of a Supercharger going in here. I’ve enlisted the name as Casper instead of Evansville, just because Casper, WY means much more to most people than Evansville, WY.

In this case, we have enough evidence that something will be built at the address listed but no actual proof that it is under construction. So, to the next person that checks this out, TAKE PHOTOS!!

Indeed. Casper, WY will "complete" I-25, although the 154.7 mile gap to Sheridan, WY suggests that a Buffalo, WY Supercharger would be very helpful in there to split that gap and _really_ complete it.

Casper, WY

Along Primary Interstates: I-25
Along US Numbered Highways (<=5mi): US-20, US-26, US-87
Along Auxiliary Interstates: None

I-25

From: Wheatland, WY - 102.2 miles
To: I-90 near Buffalo, WY - 119.3 miles
Diversion: 1.4 miles
From: Cheyenne, WY - 172.4 miles

To: Sheridan, WY (I-25,I-90) -153.9 miles

Will "complete" I-25 reducing the maximum distance between Superchargers on I-25 to 149 miles (Truth or Consequences, NM to Albuquerque, NM, and Tesla findus indicates a desire for a Socorro, NM Supercharger that would split that gap).

But, it will still leave a gap of 153.9 miles to Sheridan, WY, which suggests that a small site between (Kaycee, WY or Buffalo, WY) would help.

There's a L2 in Buffalo at a hotel right off the freeway. Nice folks there let you use it for free. We stopped in there last year Going between Denver and Sheridan. Plugged in and walked over to downtown to grab a drink at the historic Occidental Hotel. But Casper is going to make it nice.

This is great news, but I wish Tesla would add a Supercharger in Riverton so that it would make it easier to drive from the Jackson WY supercharger to Casper. It's 287 miles and just not possible without stopping for a slow charge for 4 hours at the Black Bear Inn in Dubois or the Breadboard in Riverton, and that's under ideal driving conditions. In the winter, it is really difficult. The only option is to drop down to Rock Springs on I-80, over to Rawlins, and then back up to Casper. That adds 120 miles to the trip. Even so, the distance from the Jackson Supercharger to the Rock Springs supercharger is 180 miles, a real nail biter at 10 degrees F with snow packed roads (trust me, I know). My X 100's range is reduced to 200 miles under a typical Wyoming winter day. A supercharger in Pinedale would solve this problem. I doubt that Tesla will ever fill in these gaps, but it sure would be nice to have better winter access to Jackson Hole. I'm on the list for a Cyper Truck, not because I need or want a truck, but because of the hope of a 500 mile summer range, 350 mile winter range.
