Tesla will be building a supercharger at the Mass Pike I-90 Westbound service plaza in Charlton, MA as indicated in the pin added to the Tesla supercharger coming soon map earlier this year. I believe the site plan is done and it's possible a pole for the utility service may already be in place to prepare for construction. As this is shown as Q1 on the tesla map, it's likely construction could start any time now. Anyone seeing the pin on the Tesla map probably already concluded this, but has been confirmed by Tesla.
You can say it Heard it directly from the supercharger development team. I do think Q1 is likely going to be hard to meet for this location. But in Tesla Time, that's still real soon! Source: Supercharger - Lexington, MA (RT-128 NB service plaza)
At last we will be able to avoid the annoying diversion and the lack of amenities at Auburn when driving west. Is there any info about the eastbound service plaza? Usually when Tesla builds superchargers in split service plazas it builds them on both sides.
For now, this one is too close for me to hit on my way south/west....but once I move to Maine, it might become my first stop. A much better option than Auburn
When you are in Maine stop at the Hudson: T.C. Lando's Menu | The Cheesesteak Guys then charge and eat at the Hudson SC. We would normally stop in the Kennebunk, ME South Supercharger for a bio break then head to Hudson before continuing on. The only way it would be better is if they were V3's.
I live a few towns away now, and my parents live in Hudson. That SC is one of my 2 local "Oh S***" chargers if I won't quite have enough juice to get home. Once we finish the move to Maine, the Hudson SC will be about the right spot for a stop (180 miles, ~ 2 hrs 45 min)
Whereabouts in Maine are you looking to move to? If you don't have a spot picked out yet and you're looking at the midcoast take a look at Westport Island.
