Supercharger - Chestertown, NY

So, I may have uncovered another Supercharger in New York State today, this one in Chestertown at the Stewart’s Shops on NY-8. While looking for another possible Supercharger in Lake Placid, also said to be at a Stewart’s Shops (see Supercharger - Lake Placid, NY (Planned 2019)), I fell upon a post from a TOCNYS member saying that he found 5 Tesla Supercharger stalls waiting to be activated from Feb 23rd. No photos were provided so I can’t consider this as official yet. Can someone pass through here and take a look?

This is Dan N - I'm the one that posted that message on the other forum. I can tell you that yes, this is real. If you look at the Tesla Supercharger map, you'll note that it indicates both Lake Placid and Chestertown as 2020 locations. Se the Tesla map here:

You get odd numbers by having a V2 supercharger cabinet only serving one stall instead of the normal 2. This is relatively rare, but happens on occasion. Given that it's a rare occurrence and that the site's still in the construction phase, I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually 6 stalls and just one of them wasn't completed or was otherwise inconspicuous enough to have been missed when Dan was counting. We'll have to wait for pics to be sure of what's what.

Thanks for the great updates! Would there be any room at their Indian Lake location for a few stalls? It looks like that's their most central location in the Adirondacks. It would definitely make camping much more convenient!

From: Queensbury, NY - 26.7 miles
To: Plattsburgh, NY - 82.9 miles
Diversion: 1.8 miles
From: Albany, NY - 72.9 miles
To: Canada @ Champlain, NY - 105 miles

To: Brossard, QC (I-87, QC-30) - 142.6 miles

The 82.9 miles to Plattsburgh, NY is now the largest gap on I-87.

Yeah, but still parking taking 2 parking spots - the line on the pavement is there for a reason - sigh (I know, probably a snow pile right out of photo, it IS Chestertown after all

Looks to probably be employee parking. Probably haven’t seen anyone charging yet and being full may be a long way out. Next eclipse maybe.

Everyone is shifted because of the first park job and a snow pile. Almost anywhere else the signage would allow for timed general parking.

Just parking over lines taking 2 spots, chargers or not is one of "Those things" for me. I used to carry a piece of construction chalk, would draw lines on both sides of the car, and write "A*****e Parking"

Like I said "Probably a snowpile, it IS Chestertown". Used to work for a company that has a quarry up there
