I saw the guys installing the charging stations yesterday and stopped for a chat. They were contractors from Tennessee. They told me that all the electrical work was complete, but that a Tesla employee would have to come by to validate the installation, including running diagnostics and connecting a Tesla to each of the charging stations. They said that once that was done then the lights on the chargers would go on.

They said that they have been working non-stop installing chargers all over the country and were about to go to Kissimmee Florida for their next stop and ... go kayaking. I had to ask then I saw the two boats sitting in the snow. Here's my picture of the new charges and kayaks (the guys preferred to stay off camera).

The electric company was also doing work on the nearby utility pole at the same time.

ha! These are the same guys who did Lynnfield. I was so confused as to why they had so many kayaks at there worksite. They also drink more Mountain Dew than anyone I’ve ever seen. Literally multiple trash bags full of empty dew at the end of the project.

I'm pretty sure the pairing numbers are added by the Tesla rep during the final stages of commissioning.

Maybe commissioning cannot occur until lighting is completed. Night safety may be mandated by Tesla or town inspector.
Kudos to Tesla for locating this SC in a no-charge parking lot similar to South Bay. IMHO, 80% of SC value is lost when we must pay a hefty price to park & charge. Think of Prudential and Cambridgeside garages. City government in Boston & Cambridge should provide land for charging zero emission vehicles. What a easy way to reduce climate change!

I’ve seen a few locations go live prior to lighting completion. But Chestnut Hill is still missing it’s meter as of this evening (and lights are still not on site or installed although lost everything else appears done. A number of things could explain that.

I talked to a guy there with a Tesla Energy jacket yesterday. He said it would be running "by the end of the week."

Came by this morning and saw that the Tesla signs on the top of the superchargers are now lit up. I tried to charge, connected successfully, with my screen indicating that the car was charging, but got a zero kW charge rate.

I was driving by at noon today (January 10) and it was closed again. The guys with the kayaks were there and they appeared to removing the asphalt. I didn’t speak with them so I don’t know what the problem is.

It’s powered up again as of 4:30pm. Two other cars charging with me at the moment. 3A is not working (blinks blue for a while and then goes red; repeats cycle over and over again. 3A working

Typo in my report - 3A was having issues, but 3B worked for me. I did only get 40kW or so from it (50% SoC / 19 miles rush hour drive starting with a cold pack, so that may have been normal).

For those going to this location following RT-9 east, take the Hammond Pond Pkwy exit. At the bottom of the ramp, use the center lane for a left turn (far left is a U-turn to Rt-9 west) and you will see the superchargers just ahead on the right after passing under RT-9. Take the first or second entrance into the parking lot where they are located. The Nav routing for the street address of this site (55 Boylston St) routes you further up RT-9 and then has you do a U-turn which is unnecessary.

EDIT: had requested GPS coordinate update but after the fact saw that GPS was correct.

It can take hours, days or weeks before a newly activated site shows up in car and/or on the official Tesla website.
And let it be known that until it shows up the nav it really is hit or miss, check plugshare and here before relying on it.

I charged there yesterday, most of them don't work. I found 2 that did, and both were less than 40kv, about 60% normal rate.
