No way, no how. Why would Harris Ranch allow Tesla to build a competitor building on Harris Ranch property? Not to mention that Ketteleman is just up the road.
true, it's such a big supercharger though. I'd say at least 60% of the people traveling through wouldn't go to Harris Ranch to buy anything since it's a bit more formal and would mean that you stop there for a while longer which many people wouldn't do.

Harris Ranch has as casual as one wants:
Formal Dining and casual dining at the Inn (near old chargers)
Fast BBQ at the gas/H2/CNG station with freshly barbecued Harris Ranch beef. (closer to new chargers)
There are no hip coffee baristas or vending machine food options at Harris Ranch though.
Neither HR or KC are particularly flush with great vegetarian options.
Both are nice, comfortable, clean oases in the remote and barren middle-of-nowhere though. It's a hard choice :)

It's been a long time without any updates, but I've finally got one worth sharing.

The permit has been issued!!!
Pretty basic permit information, no names or description.

Is there information that the permit does encompass 80 stalls? Why, that's like.....a Tesla feedlot!

Early in the SpC era, I passed through Harris Ranch several times. My recollection is that there was a persistent feedlot odor, and, while I'm no vegetarian, I also recall no sense that the steaks they provide are grass-fed or so forth - essentially no different from any other generic beef or other agroindustrial flesh.

I've gotten picky after decades of eating almost solely wild red meat - caribou and moose; when I come south I try to find something remotely similar.

I might be in the minority here but I enjoy the feedlot scent, it brought back memories of visiting my grandfathers farm when I was around 5-6-7. Great memories.
That and this being one of the first superchargers I used when I bought a Tesla, will always make this my favorite supercharger.

Generally, the wind blows from northwest to southeast in the Valley. Since the feedlot is about four miles north of the SC, you will more than likely experience the delightful fragrance as it wafts in the afternoon zephyr.

Harris' beef operations are quite complex. He does raise pasture beef (obviously not here). I think (emphasis on think) that the feedlot finishes off some of the pasture-fed steers who come down from the mountains or along the coast/Eastern Sierra in autumn.

You do become nose blind (apologies for mixing metaphors) to this scent after a short time. Just like you begin not to hear the train whistles at 2AM when you live a quarter mile from the tracks.

If you read the initial post, Marco's sources said 80+ stalls. Just look at all the conduit in the picture. You can tell it is going to be yuge...
