A supercharger site has been spotted under construction at:

Target
1591 Bradley Park Dr
Columbus, GA 31904

Assuming those are three V3 cabinets in the photo, that'll be a 12 pedestal site.

FYI, there's a new-ish Georgia Power DCFC site at the Burger King across the street (CCS 125 kW, Chademo 50kW).

To be clear, this site has been anticipated by Atlanta-area owners for YEARS, as it provides a good stopping point for people traveling from the north side of Atlanta to the PCB coast. Distance from north Atlanta (say, Acworth or Buford) is 130-140 miles. The recent new sites in Newnan and Marianna helped but this Columbus site is more ideal since it's closer to the middle.

This is a *great* location. Lots of food/shopping available at this exit. OP mentioned it's 2.6 miles off the interstate, which is nominally true, but if you're going from metro Atlanta to PCB/30A you cut over from 185 to 280/431 via JR Allen Parkway. (185 dead-ends at Ft. Benning.) So in reality, most through-travelers aren't diverting any appreciable distance.

This will allow those traveling along 280 to and from B'ham area to bypass Auburn, which is huge if you been to that one. :)
