Went back last night. Made a point of not charging for a couple days to get the range down around 30 miles left. Set it to range charge. Filled up to 252 in the advertised hour and 20 minutes on the dashboard while I gorged on some wings.

Superchargers are awesome.

Used it again last weekend (3 times in two weeks). The only annoyance is the extra 100 miles it takes to get from Topeka to Council Bluffs, to Lincoln. Yes, there is enough range to go Topeka, Lincoln, Council Bluffs if you don't drive anywhere in Lincoln. It's also not a problem if you stay overnight at the Wunder Roost because you can fill up overnight (then you can just go straight from Salina), but these last two round trips were just up and back without stopping over.

I feel your pain. I sure would like to see a Grand Island / North Platte pair of Superchargers. Council Bluffs to GI is about 150 miles and GI to North Plate is about 150 also. Ideal. I stay in Holdrege NE often, and have to drive up from Hays, KS with enough juice to be able to top off at 9mph in Holdrege, and still have RM to make it to Lincoln. Then, I have to rely on a friend for enough RM to get to Council Bluffs. Too much math. :)

I live in the KC area. I just took delivery of a S70D and wonder if anyone knows how easy it would be to make the trip to the Council Bluffs SC. I still haven't driven more than 20 miles each way and haven't yet used a charger outside my garage. I haven't even fully charged for range.

Congrats on the purchase! I just got mine a few weeks back myself and I'm also in the KC area (Northlands). Check out the KC area enthusiasts on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/411206715688428/

It should be straight-forward to Council Bluffs with the 70D range. See Superchargers and turn on the circle for the Independence, MO supercharger to get an idea.

it's only 182 miles. No reason there should be any problem.

I'm going on a long road trip and one leg is from Council Bluffs SC to Worthington SC. It's 200 miles, but my car is loaded up pretty well and the temperatures will be low as well. Possibly wet. EVTrip Planner says I will need a full charge and still have to drive on the slower side to make it. Has anyone done that trip in cold weather? I checked for chargers on the way. There is one in Sioux city, but nothing after that.

We did it last year in a severe winter storm and made it. DON'T take I-29 though. We took state highways the entire way and did 55mph. I wouldn't recommend trying to go I-29 because you will most likely not make it. There are slow chargers in Sioux City.

I wouldn't try it with a 70D. You need all of the 85 battery to make it with a comfortable buffer. The thing people forget about going north on I-29 is the Hills, Elevation Change, and headwinds. 9 out of 10 times we have headwinds. Every time we do the trip we arrive home with less than 10% left in the battery. I wouldn't chance it in the winter time without a ChaDEmo adapter. Go thru Topeka then to Council Bluffs. Only 85's can make the trip in winter right now.

I cannot make it from Independence to Council Bluffs with my 85D on I29 without slow charging for a long time on the way if there is any bad weather. I will go through Topeka, get a full charge there, then only approx 162 miles to Council Bluffs SupC the next time I go.

You might look at the 80 amp HPWC, if you have dual chargers, at Wild Rose Casino near Des Moines, IA. If you were going to be heading east from Worthington ,35 would take you up to the Albert Lea SC. I think that is about 40 miles longer, but depending on where you are headed it could save you time and anxiety overall.
