Are there any owners/enthusiasts nearby for a weekly pictorial updates?
In an email sent to the past rally attendees, the following info was provided:
"If you have questions or want other information, please contact Dolsee Davenport, Office Manager & Events Coordinator for the Chamber [of Commerce] at (605)673-2244 or e-mail at [email protected]."
Doisee is the Chamber point-person for the Rally events. I don't believe she is a Tesla owner, nor a member of this forum; but perhaps she knows of someone local that can provide photos. I do not know her.
Thank you! I contacted (him) Dolsee, he was out of the office, but I requested he call me back so that he or I may post a weekly update (text/pic/both) about the custer SC installation. I'll update here as I know more.
It's a strange name, but I'm guessing it's a she, not a he.
Considering I listed to his voicemail I'm going to have to disagree until further info.
You win. I just spoke to her (their voicemail voice isn't the person's voice!).
Update. It has been lousy weather in Custer so the crew went elsewhere to work (she couldn't recall which location they went to work on), but they have been assured it will be ready for the rally.

I am still begging my wife to allow me to assert my manly right to be able to go to attend this year. However, as of last night the answer is still NO, no Tesla trips without her. With all of our other trips she does not have enough vacation days for this trip also. At least she is still working so that she can support me in the lifestyle I have become accustomed to. So nice to be retired.
I can hope that next year we can attend. She did promise that we can visit SD (not San Diego) one of these days.

Just curious, if they aren't wrapped, what makes you think they aren't on? Final inspection done? Anyone nearby to go lick their finger and... I mean plug in and see?

Typically what I’ve been seeing if the stations haven’t been numbered the Tesla Supercharger tech hasn’t completed the commisioning yet. Personally I’ve only seen one case where the site was commissioned and not numbered. However the site was unavailable to use because the parking lot wasn’t completed. When the parking lot was opened the stations were renergized and numbered.
it probably won't be me. I don't get in to town until mid-day on Friday. But I'll be there for the ribbon cutting on Saturday morning, so if they quarantine it until that time then I suppose I'll have a shot...
