Erik Smith got some pictures of the Supercharger that we scouted out a couple weeks ago at Boulevard One. Looks like construction has started!

Is this going to be private or something? This doesn't even show up on Tesla's map at all for coming soon
Surprise Superchargers show up all the time without any hint from Tesla that they are being built.

Howerver, this location is most likely the Denver, CO - East location that is shown at www.tesla.com/findus. Note that the vast majority of the "Coming Soon" Supercharger pins are not located where the Supercharger will be built. They are centered above the city name where the Supercharger will be built. The Lakewood and Westminster pins will not be built at the locations where those pins are displayed on the map. Other times, the pins aren't centered above the city but that still isn't the actual location. For example, the Denver, CO - East will not be built at the intersection of Colfax and Colorado.

See supercharge.info for a crowd-sourced list and map of current and future Supercharger locations.

I stopped by this morning and chatted briefly with one of the workers. I asked how far along they are, but he was unwilling to say. He made it clear that Tesla told him not to say anything to anyone. He was polite about it, and I have no interest in him or his crew losing future work.

Attached are some photos I snapped. The crew was actively working, so the photos are not great. I live near here so I will check regularly.

Much of the construction fencing had been taken down, so I’m guessing it’s getting somewhat close. But I’ll leave the speculating to those who know the install process better than me.

Just curious, but how many did you count? We counted 16. Someone else reported "at least 25" on Facebook. Someone else mentioned only 12. lol

They are still doing a lot of other construction in the area. While the Supercharger might be close to completion, I wonder if they will wait until other construction has been completed before turning it on.

I counted 16, including what appear to be 2 front-first spots.

You may be right about timing with other openings; I truly don’t know. But it would surprise me a bit based on the layout. The access is on Pontiac St, and that entrance is already open. It leads to a small surface lot and what I believe is underground parking. Also, some of the businesses in the development are nearing opening (e.g., Mod Pizza already has its signage up). In addition, the standalone Chase ATM at the lot entrance appears ready to start dispensing cash any day now.

The question mark is the construction of the daycare facility immediately between the Superchargers and 1st Ave. It is in early stage construction and is a small area, and that construction may be much easier without a lot full of Teslas coming and going. If so, you may well be right.

8/24 Update:

Not much has changed but progress continues. I stopped by at about 11:30a today. Sturgeon Electric was back onsite today doing what appeared to be curb repair/concrete work. One of the chargers had its cardboard cover removed.

Also, as of 8/21, Mod Pizza and the gelato shop were open and the Chase ATM was operating.

As for whether opening may be delayed for other construction, I still don’t know. But it would be very easy for Tesla to open 12 of the 16 chargers (the East and West chargers) while keeping the north chargers blocked off for construction of the daycare.

I did not talk with any workers today so as to avoid getting anyone in trouble. But by appearance only, it seems like it is close to ready (whatever “close” means).

2021-08-27 Update:

I stopped by this morning and there were two Tesla Supercharger employees on site. We chatted for 15-20 minutes. They obviously did not share much with me--they were quite good (appropriately so) at not revealing any confidential or forward-looking information, despite me peppering them with lots of questions of exactly that sort. One of them was a locally based employee on the Supercharger team and the other was senior to the local person. I learned a little bit:

- It is likely that 12 of the 16 stalls (east and west) will open prior to the remaining 4 stalls (north) due to other construction projects in the immediate area.
- Opening is "close" and out of Tesla's hands. I have zero indication as to when it will open or in whose hands the decision now rests.
- They provided no information regarding other current or future sites.
- They were off to look at a bunch more sites. I do not know what sites or even whether they were current or future sites.
- They were well aware that EV adoption is set to explode between now and 2030 (per the government's stated goal of 50% new EV sales by 2030), and well aware that the Supercharger team has a lot of expansion ahead of it to meet the demand.
- While tight-lipped, they were very polite and professional.

I wonder if brand new superchargers will be any different in preparation for allowing other EVs, like CCS adapters or something

That roll-off dumpster has been there for weeks, and same for the concrete being done. Because 12 of the 16 stalls are accessible to the public right now, I tried plugging in to one that had already had its cardboard cover removed (I did not remove it) a few days ago. When plugged in, my screen said “ready to charge,” but no charging occurred. As mentioned above, Tesla does intend to open 12 of the 16 ASAP, but that it is out of Tesla’s hands now.

Stopped by Boulevard-One this morning (Monday) to check it out.
When I arrived, there were 3 Tesla people working away at getting this site ready to open.
They seemed fairly confident that part of the site would be open by the end of the week, unless something totally unexpected arises.
They were hoping for it to be partially open perhaps within a few days.
Part of the site will remain closed to the public for a while because it is in a construction zone.
The photos below show the east side of the area to open soon in the photo with the Tesla Energy vehicles.
The other photo shows the west side of the soon to open area.

Station is up and running. 12 of 16 stations are open, though only 10 of those 12 are working for the moment. The 4th stall of each cabinet are not yet working. Talked with a Tesla employee here who said it will probably take two days or so to show on the map.
