If you are driving on I-16 (between Macon and Savannah), please consider stopping by this location:

Burger King
2175 US-441
Dublin, GA 31021

I believe start is imminent there on construction of a Tesla supercharging site.

There is already a Georgia Power charging site there, with a single DCFC station offering both CCS and Chademo plugs. It was installed in ~2015 (50 kW Tritium Veefil) and was just a few weeks ago upgraded to brand new hardware (62.5 kW Chargepoint CPE250). Most of Georgia Power's newer sites have TWO stations, that can pair up to offer 80-125 kW (depending on the car) like old Tesla V2, but this one is just a single station. I'm guessing the new Tesla site will go right next to it and be 8 stations at those remaining 8 parking spots.

This is technically within the Dublin city limits, but I'm not sure if this would be permitted by them or Laurens County.

Thanks for the tip! I contacted Dublin's inspection office and they said the permits have been applied for, plans submitted and reviewed, but I believe not yet issued because the fees haven't yet been paid. She also said construction hadn't yet begun yet. And yes, she confirmed 8 parking spots will be converted to 8 supercharging stalls so you had great information. I'll place the permit indicator on supercharge.info.

Good news for those of us who transit to Savannah from time to time.

However, I'm surprised Tesla view Dublin, GA as a priority over (say) Perry, GA as they really should be adding more V3 Superchargers on the I-75 corridor to relieve the V2 chargers at Macon and Tifton, GA

Supercharger A coming before Supercharger B doesn't mean that A was the priority. They have to be able to agree sites.

In any case, you can at least travel I-75 without significant diversion. I-26 is a more glaring problem,

Dublin is actually a great location.
- Reduces largest gap on I-16 below 100 miles.
- Reduces largest gap on US-319 below 100 miles.
- Reduces largest gap on US-441 from 270 miles to below 180 miles.

I-26 is a more glaring problem,

A huge hole in the network but I believe they will have that fixed early next year (see my other topic on it). Currently from the I-26 SC in Asheville, you don't hit another SC without significant diversion until North Charleston, a large 252 mile gap. In fact those are the only SC's on the entire interstate from beg to end.

Plus these days it's not always about what Tesla considers priority. Host sites are appearing to approach Tesla with a desire to host a Supercharger, not the other way around. This certainly appears to be the case with certain convenience store outlets.

Any updates on this site? It would be a great location to fill in Central Georgia. And to have another v3 considering Macon is v2. There is alot of summer traffic on I-16 to and from the GA/FL coast.

I’m heading to Collins this weekend. If nobody has checked before then I’ll swing by.
Coincidently my mom and dad used to live near Collins and Manassas. Why I felt so strongly about the Metter SC (stated the thread on it). Oddly I'm a runner and ran in Collins a couple of times. It was just like running in Midtown/Downtown ATL except missing EVERYTHING.:D

A little OT anecdote but this Dublin exit was always my favorite back in the ICE days. Would fill up at the station next to the Burger King. This exit was my original I16 SC hope but thought it would likely go at US1 since that is about ½ way. Now Metter makes more long term sense about ⅔ to SAV with Dublin at about ⅓ of the way now coming on line soon.

My brother lives in Collins which is why I can’t wait for Dublin. Seems I always leave his house with not quite enough charge to get to Macon and end up backtracking to Metter. It’s not a lot of backtracking just annoying to have to go the wrong way.
